My wife and I have been to Alaska twice. I wouldn't mind a third trip, but I think it will be a problem getting it past her.....

ive been all cross canada, the east coast/west coast. The most exotic places ive ever been to are some of the native reserves off of Vancouver island. Amazing place to experience a completely different culture, so close to home. (for me)

Well, as I work in Eco-Adventure travel, what is usual to me may be exotic to others, like expeditions to Angel's Falls (the highest waterfall in the world), but the really most exotic trip I've made was 5 years ago as part of the support team for an expedition to Dhaulagiri, Nepal, the seventh highest mountain in the world.

Ta'if city in Saudi Arabia. That city is on a mountain, and it's road is filled with red-butt monkeys, and when you're in the city, you're basically moving in clouds Very cold though. But they do have some unusual fun activities over there.

Barcelona was fun, people speaking three different languages (Spanish, French, and Catalan), bands playing in the street all night, and Las Ramblas is an experience almost indescribable.

Thailand was pretty amazing. I'll leave it at that. I had a surprisingly good time in Kenya too. Come to think of it, I had good times in Ecuador too.

Well, it seems that foreboding has fallen over the calm world that I call home. ZS forums and I are now best buds. (I think that zombies have less cred than nukes as a doomsday, but slightly more than aliens...)

I wouldn't call it exotic, but I do like the Los Roques archipelago in the Caribbean and I've been several times:

This island is 80 miles from the mainland, there are no roads, the only water is that coming from a desalination plant, the only landing strip is rougher than an average road, yet there is an internet cafe

One of my favourite places. Anywhere.

Actually two places.

Silver sands in Mombassa which has the most beautiful lagoon and beaches.

I was in the RN and had just spent 8 tense weeks patrolling the straits of Singapore. We anchored of a small island and had a banyan (Navy term for ) and just laying on the beach with coconuts falling all around, silver beaches and a few jars (sadly no woman ) Not quite exotic but almost.

Hainan in China I think. Been to Mombasa too like some others here. Really nice beaches, Zanzibar had really nice beaches too.

Just a thought : Most people hear the word exotic, and they think about beaches etc. Big cities can be just as exotic. Nairobi and Bangkok is really cool and exotic too. At least that's my opinion.
Remember, it's a big difference between kneeling down and bending over
