| i went to all the sites listed on tv about the new service coming next year. got the coupon and the converter box for it. cept every site i went say they have no info on rabbit ear type or indoor antennas. i can only find 2 indoor antennas. should think that there would be more of a selection than that. for apt dwellers. thanks |

| I don't know about the US, but you need a decent antenna to get decent reception on HD channels here in Australia (High Definition digital TV services are running already here, with more coming soon). Rabbit ears don't really cut it, unless you're lucky enough to be in very close range of a transmission. If you can get excellent reception through the rabbit ears now, I would think you will continue to get excellent reception of the HD channel. |

| It would seem to me that without an outdoor antenna, the reception, depending on where you live, would be very crappy. It's that way with me without cable tv. I'm not even sure if rabbit ears are still availible any more. |

| i thought for digital service one had to have a digital antenna. did not think my old indoor antenna would work. at least, not by what the dtv sites are saying. thanks ps: today i hooked up the converter box and plugged in my indoor antenna. it said no signal. this antenna works for regular tv. guess i need a find a better one. ps: i hooked it up again with the old "rabbit ears" and i got 22 stations. up from 12 before. need a better antenna but, this works for now. | I think there may be different types of digital transmission between here and the US - so can't be sure that here applies to there, but you can, in theory, use rabbit ears to pick up digital here. However, there are more effective types of indoor antennas these days than the old fashioned 'rabbit ears' which most people prefer (including some with built in signal boosters), which may be why one doesn't see rabbit ear style ones much any more. Search on ebay for indoor antennas maybe to get an overview of whats available. |
