| Man, I used to watch some anime(back in the days of a real internet connection), but it was mainly Naruto. But I totally forgot about it, and deleted all what I had. I really should ask my friend to download some Cowboy Bepop, it sounds really nice. Extreme Coder |

| I used to be more into anime than I am now, but I still enjoy it quite a bit. Right now, I'm definitely enjoying Cowboy Bebop, need to get around to watching Trigun, and I've also gotten a kick out of stuff that's more shoujo, like Fushigi Yuugi and Escaflowne. Excel Saga's also good, but very, very silly. |

| Good to see a lot of turnout in this threat... I almost forgot I made it. ![]() Wow, lots of diversity! I'm happy to see that I saw Full Metal Panic mentioned a couple of times. It's one of my favorites, and as someone said before and I agree, the dub is really good. I'm quite surprised to not really see much mention of Ghost in the Shell, though. Thought it'd be a little more popular with this community. ![]() |

| Commentator | I just LOVE Anime ! but I like the old sword and martial arts fighting series with all blood and gore ! I don't like guns and magic. the best series of all times that I came to see are : 1. Berserk 2. Ninja scrolls 3. samurai X OVA 4. Basiliks are there any other good series that resembles those above ? for +17 years old ? with blood and gore ? tell me please cuz I can't find more. |

| If this one hasn't made its appearance yet in this thread, it should: Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo The graphics are weird, but the story is great. ![]() It's the story of the count of Monte Cristo of course, but in the future and a little bit modified. Now other than this suggestion, I add a little incomplete list of other animes I liked: -the Kenshin OAVs -Princess Mononoke -Rurouni Kenshin -Full Metal Alchemist -Cowboy Bebop -Full Metal Panic and FMP Fumoffu (and I still have to watch FMP second raid )And even if this is supposed to be for anime, I would like to recommend those 2 great mangas I read recently: -Monster -Deathnote They also exist as animes now, but I haven't really watched them so I don't know how good the adaptation is. And also among the great mangas: -Gunnm -Nausicaa Last edited by KIAaze : 05-23-2007 at 11:40 AM. |

| I'm not bashing Elfin Lied or anything, but I think that it is a bit graphic. Anyone agree? Also, can anyone hear hold a two or three exchange conversation in Japanese? domo arigato |

Well, it seems that foreboding has fallen over the calm world that I call home. ZS forums and I are now best buds. (I think that zombies have less cred than nukes as a doomsday, but slightly more than aliens...)

| Elfenlied IS graphic. That's why it's so good: NO compromise. It's about cybergenetics en the things they do to a girl that's so pissed off at some point she kills anyone around. How can it not be graphic. BTW: who here saw the bomb drop in Lovely Complex episode 5 fall when she said "I am ...." :-D Man, did I fall of my chair laughing. |

| the wicked one | Did you know Elfenlied is German and means elven song? The japanese seem to love putting German terms into Anime and Manga, most of the time these words are not making any sense at all ![]() I remember a character in some anime reading a magic formula in order to shoot some magic missiles: Kraft Aufzug Fernbedienung! in English:Strength Elevator Remotecontrol! |

But I've seen much worse in mangas. The most graphic violence I have ever seen in any manga/anime is definitely Berserk. The anime isn't so bad since there are not many details in the graphics, but the manga,..Wow! Truly nightmarish. Eden is pretty graphic too as manga, altough I only read the first 2-3 volumes until now. Quote:
I had Japanese lessons for 2.5 (ni (point) go) years now, but I still can't speak a lot. :/ Hatarakimasen not enough. ![]() I've got some vocabulary, but that's about it. If I had all my japanese lessons with me here, then yes, I could hold some little conversations. ![]() Quote:
But some are quite good nonetheless: ex: Monster Last edited by KIAaze : 06-01-2007 at 02:03 PM. | |||
