| Discussion starter | Hi there! I am new here! I hope that I can find many interesting and helpful people in this place! I would like to change my physical outlook. Currently I weight only 55 kg which is very little for my age. I want to gather muscle volume, so that I can look like a real man. Is there a way to do so? Thanks in advance! |

| Discussion starter | fuscia, I don't understand the terms "squats" and "deadlifts". raffytaffy, I manage to get about 6-7 hours sleep each day and about 1-2 kg food each day. Is this ok? |

| Why not just do it the way I did it? First, have aspirations to get higher education but get no emotional or financial support (i.e. don't go to university). Then get some computer jobs because you're smart, but the bosses will probably piss you off, so quit. Then get a string of jobs in construction or some sort of industrial shop where you have to sweat a lot and do heavy lifting. This may strain your joints, and you may even be maimed or killed, but that's why you go to the pub after work and consume enormous quantities of beer. You may develop a bit of a "gut," but you'll also be strong and muscled (and optionally bearded). Bitterness and resentment are possible side effects. Repeat as necessary. I hope this helps! ![]() |

| eat 5-7 meals a day. try to balance macros in this fashion : (10 part whole = 1 meal) 5 part protein / 3 part fat / 2 part carb. Do all your lifting in the morning time as natural testosterone is highest in the morning time. Don't drink alcohol as it increases your cortisol which is known to burn muscle for energy. Don't eat simple sugars ( HFCS - high fructose corn syrup) usually found in soda and fast foods. In fact avoid take out all together, try to eat what you make, that way you know what's in it. Try not to take over the counter medications as they are known to cause problems in the gym ( lack of energy ). |

| well, anyway, here's why muscle does not turn into fat: muscle cells and fat cells are entirely different from one another (it would be easier to turn gold into lead) and muscle cells are never going to turn into fat cells. ok, you might ask "but, dr. fuscia, won't i still get fat if i stop exercising?" yeah, you might, if you consume more than you burn. but, this is true if you never exercised at all (it's not as if adding muscle increases your chances to become obese. quite the contrary). the more muscle (active tissue) you have, the slower you will gain fat. |

it doesn't matter if that muscle turns to stone or not or something. basically, there are 3 options: a) you stay the same b) the muscle magically dematerialises and you go back to how you started before you started body building. c) it turns to flab and you get fat. option c is the correct one.
