I will if I have nothing else to do. I'm a long time Schumacher supporter, and was also a follower of Raikkonen since his Sauber days...
But since he moved to McLaren, I had to "hate" him ( figure of speech of course ) because Schumi was his arch rival.
But now I'm for him again
Go Kimi Go !

It's a bit more fun again now, with 3 people getting decent points. Have to like all three of them in different ways, too. VERRRRY impressed with Hamilton - he can actually DRIVE the car!

Mostly trying to hang on with Champ Car though - no traction control or other artificialities; the timed 'power to pass' button; the mandated and visible tire choice (which F1 has followed now) - and the penalties for driving infractions make much more sense than any other form of the sport. (cross a chicane and pass someone - give the spot back and try again - not a drive-through.... block someone illegally - let him through or else.... etc etc)

It's gonna be a tough race, I think. Four similar cars/drivers and each of them has a realistic chance to win. Let's see what's gonna happen

I've been a fan of F-1 since the early '60s, and yes, I watched the race on Speed Channel.

Much more interesting than watching a car with a Cheerios box painted on the hood, go in a circle.

Nice to hear such an opinion from someone from the US after the special F1 race in Indianapolis

^,

I've had the opportunity to attend three Long Beach Grand Prix's, and two at Watkins Glen. It was like a dream come true for me, who was hooked on "Sports Car Graphic" way back in the '60s.

But, F-1 has a long road ahead of them, to gain any more than a "expat" following in the states, due to the popularity of NASCAR racing, and a lack of understanding of the differences in technology.

A couple of good runs here, without the distractions of tire problems, etc., would go a long way in gaining a substantial fan base.

Default Formula 1

Does anyone else keep up with the happenings in the world of F1?

I've been watching it regularly for years and now that I'm in the UK I've been able to see many of the top dudes in action, in person

I have a video I took of the 2006 Renault V10 'singing' at Goodwood last year: YouTube - Renault R25 Formula One singing engine

The Brits are loving Hamilton, he's in the papers all the time now, and Alonso (who lives in the UK) isn't earning himself any friends lately!

Ah, sorry about that! No idea how I missed this thread earlier

There don't seem to be too many motorsports fans on here, eh?

Actually, I'm a great fan and try to watch every session, from the first free training to the race.

I've been watching it, well since forever

I used to be a fan, back in the 3 liter days (think Jackie Stewart, Niki Lauda, et al...)

Nowadays, it's no fun.

New season starts up next weekend, who's got their picks for the year already? I would have to wager Kimi and Ferrari over Louis for both Championships.
