| Well.. I think that now we are about to move into an extended period of revolution. I think that people are beginning to see the old systems of power that rule their lives as not truly serving them. They see the power of the world being syphoned into the hands of the elite and away from the democracy that is little more than illusion at this point, so in 100 years I think humankind will be beginning to rebuild a new system, which I think is the only good part in the life of a society. All the hope for the future, not becoming corrupt yet and so on. or we will all be dead, lol. |

| We will still be very same, yet very different especially tech-wise, also in 100years i reckon there will be people who will see Earth for the first time - through a telescope. |

| I don't know if anybody'll figure it out before it happens, but I think that there will be world wide wars leading to a second Dark Age. anti-Yip! |

Well, it seems that foreboding has fallen over the calm world that I call home. ZS forums and I are now best buds. (I think that zombies have less cred than nukes as a doomsday, but slightly more than aliens...)

| Different to the one where in at the moment, just as when the children of 100 years ago, looked into their picture book, and dreamed of the future. No one has a crystal ball, and the future is not set, anything can change alter or affect history between one second and the next, we can speculate, and consider, but ultimately the only people who can answer that question with any certainty will be those living 100 years in the future looking back into their past and pondering what it was like to live 100 years ago... |

| I predict that there will be a steady at first and then momentous backlash against globalisation as people realise that they are in the first generation in several whose wages and living conditions are not improving. I predict that the Middle East will become a single state and that although Islamic terrorism will subside, and a fear of terrible attack will become like a another Cold War. I predict I will realise that its impossible to predict the future... |

I have actually changed my mind on how we will be in a hundred years time. I think that instead of advancing we are regressing, ie destroying our environment, destroying eachother. I think we will go back to the stone age as some natural disaster or lack of natural resources will leave us without electricity or at least enough power to live as we do today. PS: does anybody know where the URL is for those windup laptops ? ![]()

| actually that is a theory of what might have already happened in the past explaining the perimids (naw the so called ancient egyptians could not have built them) and other astounding descoveries like something looking like a sparkplug but hundreds of thousands of years old Last edited by simons-photography : 07-14-2007 at 07:24 AM. |

| You could be right, maybe the world has been going through these cycles for thousands of years. The pyramids being built only 2-3000 years ago has been contested quite a lot, I remember a documentary by a researcher called J.J Benitez who used basic maths to calculate the size and weight of the pyramids and how long it would take to build them if you didn't have cranes and other lifting equipment, and it appears that if the dates are correct, the Egyptians would not have been able to complete the task in such a short period of time. Not unless they managed to place each block perfectly at the rate of 1 every half hour or so. (not exact by the way, I can't remember the exact figures). But anyway, could make an interesting new thread. (as we've gone a bit off-topic) ![]() |

I don't see the world moving in a strict circular pattern. More like a wave-like pattern with an overall advancement. Environmental destruction is on the verge of throwing our technological advances backwards a bit, but I think we'll deal with the problem and then move forward. There have been advanced societies before, but never like what we have now. If there was, there would be evidence left behind. Think about it. How many millions of years would it take for all traces of our society to disappear?

| not many but for all that plastic we bury in landfills, so you reckon they built ramps a mile or more long and 150 metres high and did that for every block weight I forget weather 10 or 100 tons ? just not possible sure a group of people can lift a truck i did a similar thing once to shift a car we didn't have the keys for but to take a 10+ ton block up 150 metres and just say ooh they used ramps is pathetic, not to mention that they are placed with sub millimetre precision ! |

Why? Simply because we still are a world fighting the same things we did in 1900, WW2 simply extended into the Cold War and the Cold War method of "checker board control" turned into the "War on Terror" and Africa continues to be a place of dieing from AIDS, polio, and violence.
