| One thing the tech media has taught me: wait for the second round of any apple product. But no, I probably won't get one. My old Nokia that can *gasp* make phone calls and send texts and download some games is OK with me. |

| Commentator | I would love to have one eventually, but definatly not the first round, like you said. I most likely, however, will never have one. I tend to get in too deep with asking myself questions like "Do I really need this?" and talk myself out of purchases of that sort (wants, basically.) |

| Dogs don't make mistakes. | I'll probably just get a Blackberry or whatnot in a couple years; the iPhone is just too expensive for too little gain. |

well, won't buy a phone like this: its really expensive and i think a mobile phone is not an entertainment device (well, i know for many people it is). I only use my mobile phone for talking! | |

| Not another Mobile! Where I work you are not allowed to use mobiles, however work gives me 3. One is a my office phone that uses the hospitals WiFi systems to track me and redirect my office calls to me. The second is a normal mobile which is used by people because they cant get through to my office phone because its engaged! Its engaged because Im on it!!!! The third is my Major Incident phone which is only used for SMS's. So another phone no not for me. ![]() |

| Can Linux be installed in a conventional mobile? Opps I shouldn't be talking linux but I just like to see if we can play around with it in mobile. Just like OSX in a iphone. I actually was tempted to buy iphone vs nokia N95. Which one do you think is better? |

| In the words of Public Enemy - "Don't Believe The Hype". So what have Apple done. Taken old mobile comms technology (EDGE) and added an applications processor ($10) and put a closed OS system on it. Wrapped it in a shiny shell to sell for very large margins to the sheep that buy into their marketing messages. I'll wait until there is some hands on use. Mobile is all about instant access and usablility. If it is even slightly more hassle to type a number on the screen than a normal keypad it will have a big impact on uptake. I'm not against it I just think everyone should hold until they can try one. Maybe it will be brilliant but I'm not goign to be drawn in by a few pictures and some web hype. I've palyed with enough prototype mobiles to know that small things make a huge difference in this business. |
