| I won't get it, why? Simple: 1.- I already a cellphone which works quite well despite the fact it is about 4 years old. 2.- I already have a nice digital camera with which I can take splendid shots (better than those I could take with any built-in camera of any mobile device, however I've just learned that iphone won't support that). 3.- An Ipod? No, thanks. I did not buy an Ipod because it would not play my OGG music files, nor I am gonna buy an Iphone just for its 'Ipod capabilities'. 4.- Mobile internet, for what? I already have a 1MB DSL connection, I don't see the need to pay even more for internet access. So, as you can see, I don't really need it, and as long as I don't care for eye candy, no thanks!! |

| Nope, because I wouldn't pay $600 to buy a phone that doesn't support 3G. If I was remotely thinking of buying something similar, it would be the Nokia Internet tablet N800( it runs Linux) I will use my phone to call and SMS people, thank you very much. |

| Commentator | Won't be getting an iPhone, but I'm interested in a Neo1973 running OpenMoko when they reach gen 2 later this year. Main Page - OpenMoko The software is the most interesting part to me, but the hardware obviously needs to be good too. |

| I love gadgets but I must be getting old. I see no real use for a "smart phone". I have a work mobile that I mainly use as a stage prop (to leave boring meetings to take an "urgent call"). I have never once felt the need to email someone or browse the web while I'm mobile and I couldn't think of anything worse than watching TV on a screen that size. I think the whole mobile technolgy thing is technology-driven rather than market-driven. They are using the fact that stupid teens and those gen y wipper snappers have more disposable cash than is good for them. Bring back conscription. Or the lash. Oh dear, I am getting old. |

| Just getting started | I already have a HTC TyTN and the HSDPA speeds are just lovable, otherwise I maybe would get iPhone, it's a beautiful peace of work with a working concept. Maybe when they get it on the European market and get a 3G version out, if there's going even to be a 3G-model. Then I maybe could consider to chance. |

| i won't be getting an iPhone. i have no need for one. i have heard many rumopurs that the battery lasts a mere 45 mins. that, combines with the fact that additional applications can't even be added to it(not even java applications), means that it is extremely limited for what its intended to do and be. then there's the price tag. no thank you! personally, i prefer a phone thats good as a phone, so that means that i tend to avoid sony ericssons and modern day nokias (the old ones were good). i prefer samsungs and motorolas. |

| Eligible for a custom title | Nah, calls and text messaging is plenty for me on a phone. I do have a camera phone, which had come in handy when I was a witness to a crime and managed to get legible pics of the getaway car and license plate. But, then I slipped and fell on my arse (and phone) in an ice storm and brokededededed it. I can call on it now and that's it. The gadget itself is kinda cool though. And a plus is that is look big enough for my giant gorilla hands! (Most laptops even cause me pain because they're too small.) :| |

| Commentator | I too only use my phone for talking, I don't live on mine like some young people do. If I want to talk, I talk...I don't text constantly or try to find the latest features. I use it for what it is. Of course the iPhone is eye candy **SEXY**, but still...who needs all that...I doubt any of us are business tycoons who are always on the go and need that kind mobile performance. |

| Nope. A generational thing I think. I carry a cell phone to be a phone. I don't use an ipod, because frankly, it's dangerous not to be able to hear what's going on around you, and what few pictures I take, I still take them on film. |

| I'll join the crowd and say no iPhone for me. In addition to all the phones that have been announced that look just as cool, do more and cost less...it's an Apple product. I can do without those! |

| Level 37 Bureaucrat | If it had a big enough HDD capacity for it to be used as a portable media storage device (at least 20GB) and worked as well as an iPod for music then i might consider it. But it's still a bit pricey... |

Besides, I am not too impressed with my iPod because I am having trouble with it and it is only one year old. When I replace it I will buy a less expensive device that does not have DRM. I have used iTunes and I would rather just buy music on CD that does not have DRM protection because it is too much of a hassle in several ways. Last edited by LinuxFan : 05-19-2007 at 11:36 AM.
