Encyclopdia of Life!!

So, what does everyone think of the new Encyclopedia of Life (Encyclopedia of Life?? I think its an awesome idea and really hope it succedes. Itd just be awsome to goto one site and have all the info on all the known species in the world....

I love the idea. I hope it progresses and there's enough interest to keep it going.

I personally think that ALL information should be available and easily accessible.

Great!!!!!!! I used WikiSpecies -and I like it. But it's good to have some competition.

This is good, because if some of those species goes extinct they shall still be alive in digital form.

Collaborative work is always/usually a good thing. A long term project too. Open and public information on the internet is great. The infos will be reviewed before publication (for accuracy) as I understand it.

Look at wikipedia. How would we do now without it?

Now, one might ask yourself why the features presented (like changing article content from Novice to Advanced to produce more technical information) couldn't be done in other encyclopedias as well. I hope that other encyclopedias learn from this one.

I think it's an excellent project, and will be an amazing teaching resource after 10 years in the making.

Yes, I think they'll end up competing. However, as I mentioned earlier, they have some great features that other encyclopedias don't have. At all.
