Have you ever even met religious people, or does all of your evidence come from YouTube clips, Richard Dawkins books and Atheist forums?
I'm sure he has considering a good bit of Americans are Christians and the evangelist Christian organizations are on the rise.

The texts do not change in time, but the religions do. IMO that is the nature of the beast, it is irrational. People say they believe in the texts, while it contains things that would not agree with in the slightest. They delude themselves because it has to be true for them.

I disagree, some beliefs are less justifiable.(although i assume all have assumptions) I treat religions with more respect because their beliefs do not affect me.(because they disagree with the bible anyway) And because of the chance that i am deluded/have misconceptions, myself. Although, the latter is limited to how much i feel i could have misconceptions/delusions.

Yes, but that doesn't mean that all religious people are fundamentalist Evangelicals. I guess if he lives in Tennessee or Saudi Arabia it would make sense why he has such a biased view, but the vast majority of the religious people that I have met were neither evangelists nor fundamentalists.

If his original argument was "Fundamentalist Christianity/Islam are problematic", I would agree with him. But he makes sweeping generalizations about all of the world's religions, which is an entirely different story.
