| Radio talk show host Don Imus finds himself in hot water again! This time, the controversial host made a questionable statement about the Dallas Cowboys comeback. When told about one of the players (formerly nicknamed Pacman), he ask; "What color is he?". He was told that the player is "Afro-American", Imus responded by saying; "There you go. Now we know." The Rev. Al Sharpton is again outraged as before when Imus made a racist comment about a female basketball team in April '07 and was fired for the remark. According to the Associated Press, Imus had reportedly stated that the remark wasn't meant the way that it sounded. That he supposedly was not talking about the guy's race or color, but was saying that the guy is always being treated unfairly because of his color or race. | Stirrer Of Shit | It's a free country. If you don't like what he says, don't listen to him. I don't. Sharpton always gets outraged when there's someone who can be shaken down, money to be made, or attention to be got. Oh wait. But Imus does all these great charitable things for kids. That means he can say or do whatever he wants. That's the answer to all the extremist hateful crap that comes out of Obama's church. "The church does good things in the community." You're just listening to one two-second loop of what Imus said. What is it Obama says about that? What does Obama say happens when you just look at one two-second loop? |

Free country, hey? Is that why you're so controversial with your replies all the time? If this racist is going to start up again, he'll be booted off the air again! Once a racist, always a racist! Can't change a tiger's stripes. Helping the kids is great! BUT THAT CERTAINLY DOES NOT MEAN THAT HE CAN SAY OR DO WHATEVER HE WANTS!! That part is pure 100% unadulterated BULLCRAP!! What planet are you living on? I tutor young children at school, as you already know. BUT THAT DOES NOT GIVE ME THE RIGHT TO SAY OR DO ANYTHING I WANT TO THEM!! For instance, I'm not allowed to spank or yell at them or make them sit in a corner! There are limitations, rules and guidelines that he MUST follow. And as for your first smirky sentense, no one has any control over what they hear on or in the news, so just get off that high horse of yours and cool it, buster. ![]() Last edited by Daquan13 : 06-26-2008 at 10:22 AM.

| I can learn better from THEM than from you! At least I can and DO earn their trust, love, admiration and respect. You, on the other hand, do nothing but scorn people, so what do you get back in return? Scorn! "Oh wait. He does all those great charitable things for the kids. That means that he can say or do whatever he wants." Oh, so does that mean that he can kick the kids around and treat them bad? That certainly is NOT the case!! How sad it that? You call THAT justifiable? Oh. I forgot. You must be living on Mars to be able to fix your mouth to say something like that. Stop trying to make excuses for this guy and come to the realization that you're just grabbing at straws. This hypocrite makes me wanna puke!!!!!!!!! ![]() Last edited by Daquan13 : 06-27-2008 at 09:49 AM. |

| Stirrer Of Shit | Did you miss the point because you're stupid or are you being dishonest? In case it's the former, I'll try to explain it for you. I employed the exact same lame excuses your presidential candidate used defending his wacko pastor and that hate monger holding tank he calls a church. It worked out fabulously. You obviously don't care for the quality of the excuses Obama makes to defend idiocy. Let's see if you can connect the rest of the dots yourself. |

| What's that got to do with Imus? Are you dumb or just plain stupid? That idiotic statement that you just made made no sense at all!! The reason why his butt is back in hot water again. People like you supporting this so-called claim that he can do or say whatever he wants! Who does he think he is, God?!! I've only mentioned the issue with him because I thought some of the members here might like to know. You don't have to like what Obama or anyone else says. No one is making you do it. Let's just put it THIS way; I want Obama in office - not McCain. And since you seem to care so much about Imus, then why don't you go borrow a 777 and help him try to get his foot that's been stuck so far back in his mouth out of his mouth? Question for you to consider: Do you believe you can support someone's right to say something without agreeing with what they said? Why would any of the members here care what Don Imus says? I underlined a couple things in your post. Those are clues. Think carefully about them and my last post might make sense to you. | |

1. True, I'm not dishonest, nor am I stupid. 2. That all depends on the circumstanes 3. Probably none, mainly you, but you seem to think that he can say or do whatever he wants, which is wrong. 4. I'll look at them. ![]()

| Stirrer Of Shit | Might you have a problem with reading comprehension and picking up on nuance? What kind of circumstances? Circumstances such as whether you agree with what is said? Quote:
The fact is, he broke no laws when he said what he did, whether he meant it the way it sounded or not. He may face consequences in public opinion or even his arrangements with the company he broadcasts for. Not legal ones. You certainly have no say in whether he can say that - you can just choose not to listen to him. I think if you read what I said very carefully and thoughtfully, you might see some different meanings in what I've said in this thread than the conclusions you've jumped to.

| Go back to the post that you wrote where you said that he can say or do whatever he wants. Helping the kids is one thing. But as for your comment on him being allowed to doing and saying what he wants, that just isn't right at all. Unless you were saying that's what others think or believe. |

| Stirrer Of Shit | Oh wait. But Imus does all these great charitable things for kids. That means he can say or do whatever he wants. That's the answer to all the extremist hateful crap that comes out of Obama's church. "The church does good things in the community." I see why you're confused now. Maybe I should have put a better indicator that I was speaking mockingly and not for myself. I figured the context "that is the answer to all the..." was enough to communitcate what I was doing, but obviously wasn't enough for everyone. What I've done in the big picture of this thread, is take a "who gives a shit" topic, and use it to make a point about something that matters - what kind of guy we have running for president - Obama. When the networks grudgingly had to report on the elephant in the living room - that Obama has surrounded himself with hateful, irrational, fringe weirdos for at least half his life, the answer from the Obama camp which is expected to sooth public opinion and calm the nerves of anyone who might be edgy about the fact Obama has attached himself over 20 years of his life to a man who thinks the government injected people with AIDS and other lunacy - the answer was "well, they do a lot of work in the community - you're only taking a little sound bites out of context and looping them." That was supposed to make everyone feel all better about the troublesome facts. To show people like you how weak and senseless such a defense is I pretended to use it defending someone you're predisposed to dislike. Imus. It is true Imus has done good things for disadvantaged kids, and that is a nice thing. But it doesn't change anything Imus has said in public. It is true that for a time, the media was "looping" just a few seconds of Imus's words, not summarizing everything Imus ever said each time they brought it up. Again, that doesn't change anything Imus said - context wouldn't have changed anything. Obviously you believe that such a defense is meaningless in the face of something said that is so obviously problematic. If such a defense is not a "get out of jail free card" for Imus, why would it be for Obama? |

| Well, you know that the media is going to grab anything he says and try to turn it into a negative or a racial slur. But truthfully, had he not made that racial comment about the female basketball team last year, he might not have been singled out for saying what he said THIS time. I'm waiting to see if he'll use the N-word to anyone. |

| Stirrer Of Shit | Actually, I don't think the media misrepresented anything Imus said. They didn't misrepresent J. Right or Pfleger either. With Imus, it just isn't consequential. Imus and Obama have both undoubtedly already used the N-word multiple times. |
