Fox hole religion is a term for turning to God only when confronted by danger. Probably from the saying "there are no atheists in fox holes."

A fox hole is a name for the trenches or emplacements soldiers take cover in during battle.

As far as the sign, my opinion is that while these people are thinking about other people they think "make them sick," they aren't thinking about what really makes them sick.

Fundamentalists are the ones who make me sick.

You shouldn't give them that kind of power over you imo.

"Dykes on bikes"?
"The Jews That Are From The Synagogue of Satan"?

This guy's sign is even more confusing than most fundamentalist nutjobs.
Bovina Sancta!
Mohandas Gandhi broke the law, too.

Well, this reminds me of a saying i heard ages ago. It's in danish, and i can't remember it word for word, but the essence of it is;

A man who spend his life focused on what he hate, forgets what he loves and how to love.

I'm not much of the religious type, in fact i gave up belief long time ago, but i know religion is about forgiveness, hope and love (yes i've done my fair share of reading). These people stands for the exact opposite, if one is to analyze their sign. They are so focused on what to hate, that i bet they can't mention an equal number of things they love.
..........And on the first night, god made coffee!

I'd like it if you could post the actual words to that in Danish

Can I suggest to you that you may have your thinking about this backwards? Maybe the religion you gave up is NOT about faith hope and love, but your belief, independent of religion, is about faith hope and love. If you believe in faith, hope, and love, you have a belief. You didn't give up belief, you gave up religion.

The people holding the sign have no shortage of religion. But, I have to wonder what they believe. If a person is willing to sit down and take the time not just to catalog every type of person, belief system, and behavior they despise, but to put it on a sign they'll invest time in waving in public, that makes me question what kind of faith they have in God, what their hope is actually in, and what they love.

I don't think it is faith in any God really in the true sense. It's more about successful familial/cultural indoctrination. The parents and communities brainwash their kids to go along with their rubbish without questioning it - probably actively discouraging questioning it (questioning the word of god is a sin, etc).

Of course, i'll look for the real text, and post it, no problem.

EDIT:
My translation :A man who spend his life focused on what he hate, forgets what he loves and how to love.

The closest i can get in danish (can't find it on the web): En mand som bruger sit liv på had, glemmer hvordan han elsker.
/EDIT

I think you're right. The language is giving me a hard time every once in a while

Well I'm not even sure what some of their terms mean ("Ankle Biters?" - over here I think that is a pet name for kids, but not a term I generally use) - but I am sure I qualify for their list of evildoers on at least 3 categories. Probably more, especially if you count past behaviours.

That tells me about their religion, but it doesn't tell me what they believe about God and all.

Maybe it's not what they believe, but who they can leave out in the cold, away from their little community. Maybe it gives this man and his "followers"(?) a feeling of power, or a feeling of being the strong ones.

It makes me think of how often religion is used for bad purposes. Oppressing innocent people, terrorizing people etc. etc.

Its controversial, I see that the one dudes shirt sais Jesus saves from..then some sort of drawing or sign directly under that..kind of looks like a movie strip..on the bottom of his shirt. He reminds me of a Christian gone awry..People forget that Christians are humans too, and we will screw up..that to is how we learn..hopefully after a time of conviction/condemnation we choose a better path than to repeat offenses to people un-necessarily..

There is no perfection in a human being..one just has to live and learn..

Its all going to burn.

Notice that the sign is about him? Its about what he and his friends don't like. Its not a message of any kind of hope or solution.
