If so, then what a cruel thing to say! He might not have been everyone's favorite rap star, but he did have a lot of fans, as most stars in show biz usually do.

And he DID help kick off the baggy pants fad. So, even though he's sadly gone, his legacy LIVES ON with billions of teens when they dress up wearing baggy pants, boots and long T-shirts. It's a trend that will hopefully NEVER go away.

And guess what? His music is STILL making money!! Love him or hate him, he was a great star!
Frankly I couldn't care less whether he is dead or alive, but would guesstimate that because of his death, some other people might still be alive who otherwise might not have been.

I generally don't like people making a business out of setting themselves up as an idol for gun-toting criminalism (effectively inciting or encouraging the same behavior in others). Unfortunately he got to be a martyr somehow in the madness - that is the only reason his 'music' (for want of a better word) still makes money.

As I said I don't care if he is dead or not. But I do believe the world would have been a better place had he never existed in the first place.

Like the guy in Human Giants; Shutterbugs said; Haven't you heard of Osama Binladen? Well sadly, I'm sure there will be others to take his place if he were to be captured.

And like the rap world, and following Biggie Smalls and Tupac, there are other gansta rap stars flourishing out there, such as 50 Cent, Juvinile, Snoop Dogg, Bow Wow, Master P, and others.

Do you wish that they were dead as well?

I already said I didn't care less whether Tupac were dead or alive - so I don't see how that would extend to 'I wish they were dead too'.

To answer your inquiry though, I couldn't care less about them either. They are very low grade entertainment workers who are fortunate enough to have a culture available to them that they can exploit for millions. (Note some of them I have never heard of, but if you say they are 'gangsta rap stars' that is good enough to make them nobodies in my eyes).

I'm not a huge fan of rap as a whole - I generally prefer music. But there are skilled and talented people in that field. But funnily enough, the more talented ones I don't see as basing their image on being some kind of pseudo-criminal-idol. A few names that come to mind of more talented rappers ... Run DMC, Public Enemy, Eminem ... even Will Smith.

They are making a living the honest way.

It's just that for some of them, their music is at times controversial. Some might tend to think that you're stereotyping the music and culture though, myself included.

But let's get back to the subject of baggy pants, please.

Well I'm not sure if there is much left to say on the subject, but sure, if you like.

Yeah, the thread was so much more captivating before it got off topic.

Let WHAT die, baggy pants? That'll NEVER happen! Haha!!

In fact, probably 5 to 10 years from now, teens will STILL be wearing them.

As long as there are kids, there will ALWAYS be baggy pants.

And BTW, guess what? I've gotten into wearing baggy short jeans and long loose T-shirts for the summer!

The long T-Shirt allows air to go through and get under it to help keep me cool and with less sweating.

And in the fall, I'll be wearing baggy long-legged jeans! The weather will still be kind of warm through October.
