You know I think it's funny because most people don't realize there is no Biblical support that the wisemen gave Jesus presents. It's just assumed because we say there were three kings, and Mathew mentions three gifts, so people assume that these three gifts were carried by the three wise men -- you have three of each. That's just kind of a tradition. The Bible doesn't even say there were three kings, this is just an assumed astrological symbolism. The three kings are the three stars in orion's belt (that's actually what the stars are called, still today). On the 24th back around 0AD they probably lined up through sirius (ie the star of Bethlehem), and point to the exact location that the sun rises on the 25th. Hense it is said that the three wise men followed the star in the east to locate the birth of Jesus.
