He needed them to fool everyone because when he was circumcised and at other times he was exposed. They may have even gone away after he told everyone in the temple that Gods prophecy was fulfilled in their ears. Some say his balls shrunk in front of everyone there and then and that was actually the first miracle, not turning water into wine. The Church has never liked to talk about that tho because of the delicate nature of the event. I think there was some screaming going on that day.

Maybe that's why Jesus didn't like to fight, he had no balls.

All that is just conjecture tho.
