| Discussion starter | I say exactly what I think on my religion tests all the time. My teachers -- to date -- don't mind if I disagree, as long as I understood the material, and as long as -- when I do put down the "wrong" answer -- I provide a good, substantiated argument. In fact, once, there were two essay questions, and I only answered one of them (As in max-points-possible=50/100), though I did cover it very thoroughly. And I basically said our church is all wrong. I still got an A. Can't say whether your teacher is quite so open minded though... SigmaX |

Check it out: www.linuxedge.blogspot.com Maybe there's a link between using Linux and being rational - and rational people are more likely to be atheists (although I'm not implying that religion is irrational*) *yes i am.

But as always, there are exceptions, and it seems your teacher is one of them. A few weeks ago, my IT teacher mentioned in his class that a computer is useless with Windows on it(he doesn't actually know anything about Linux, to him it's an OS used by Govs for hacking stuff). So I talked to him at the end of the class, and being how arrogant he is. I brought a Linux LiveCD next morning, ran it on one of the PCs, he said that's only a modification of the Windows on the PC. He said it wouldn't run on a PC without Windows. So I brought my Dad's(R.I.P) laptop, made a backup, formatted it, then ran that LiveCD. He had to make up an excuse to go away. But now whatever I tell him about computers, he takes it and shuts up ![]() Extreme Coder

| Sweet. It would be great if you could bring in a laptop and show him the Beryl cube, that would like destroy anything he previously thought about Windows. |

You have options... 1. Sell out and answer the question the "right" way for the grade. 2. Take the test, get enough of the other questions correct that your grade will be passing, mark the answer "no" with an asterisk and at the bottom explain the reasoning for your answer. 3. No matter your choice, live your life and make your choices and come to your own conclusions. I am Machiavellian by nature. I will answer in such a way as to get a good grade and save commentary for another day.

| Have you even got beryl to run on your computer? I have but still can't figure out the 3D acceleration. So it doesn't work. Meh. Anyway I took the damn test and I think I did ok. I'll photocopy it when I get it back and post a link so you guys can see my pwnage . My answer was a combination of what you guys suggested. |

| I did, using the drivers that come with xorg(radeon) and also using the propreitary drivers(fglrx). FGLRX functions faster, but radeon driver is no hassle to set it up(it's already set up when you install linux) What type of GFX card do you have? BTW, Can't wait to see your pwn3d test :P Extreme Coder |

| My religion teacher is evil. With three weeks left of school she gave us a project! We have to do some crap with the deeper meaning of a song or something so I chose "Wind of Change" -Scorpions. Good song actually (one of my favorites). I'll update you guys on what I have to do when I get the rubric. |

| IT IS OVER! YES! FOREVER! 8th grade is over, and next year I am going to public high school. No more religion classes! Oh yeah and I got an A on the test. The teacher didn't seem to care that my answer included "God does not exist". What was really funny was the other day my friend eric was talking to my Rel. teacher. She said to him "wouldn't it be nice if religion and government weren't separated and they both worked together?". And he says...wait for..."Oh, do you mean like Iran?" She kind of just walked away after this. My friend contains his laughter and tells me about it later. I just thought that was funny. |
