Whither it be your so to speak soul, or your personality?

I believe that i am going to be reincarnated so that way my soul will know more about life and to reach Enlightenment

I believe that we take off the virtual reality helmets and leave the theater.

Or get unplugged from the matrix :-)

Here are my theories:

1. We get unplugged from the matrix.
2. We take off the virtual reality helmet.
3. We get a choice between a red pill and the blue pill. Being me, I took both and my tounge turned purple.
4. We sit in a large abyss, thinking to ourselves, "Why didn't I spend more time outside?"
5. We get placed in the Trash folder, which is to be emptied by the system administrator every evening at 5:00 PM sharp.
6. Nothing.
7. We meet an omnipotent being and ask him "What is the answer to life, the universe, and everything?". She then tells us "42"
8. Same thing above, but with a guy as the great being.
9. We watch a replay of our lives then immediately think, "Well that movie stunk."
10. We are the creation of pandimensional hyperintelligent beings, aka mice.
11. We all become Windows users (not all of them can be good, you know!)

That is something I have no reason to concern myself with. Quite frankly I have enough to enjoy while I am still here, and want to enjoy all of it that I can.

Anything that happens once I depart from this place is already preprepared, and I am content to deal with what ever that may be, when I arrive at my new destination.

Until then

I believe our neurons quit firing, our biology decays and our consciousness ceases to be, and we remain in the memories of others.

This is of course an incredibly disheartening grim outlook on the afterlife, but I haven't got any evidence which supports otherwise, and when I find that, I'll more than happily accept it.

Maybe I'll find it before I die, that'd be nice

I once heard Nascar driver Michael Waltrip claim that in heaven, there is no body fat. I am kinda hip to that concept.

I agree.

The upside of this belief (other than the knowledge that according to occam's razor it is most likely to be true) is that one will be more inclined to do something with themselves, knowing that this consciousness you have now is not a step on some ridiculous path, but that this is it, and you should treat it as such.

I believe in... Nothing. I'm fairly certain we're just a big glob of cells (of particles) and they just dissipate.

I know that may sound harsh, but I have trouble getting into fairy tales about mythical gods and creatures.

You can't destroy energy.

When I take apart my computer, I'm fairly sure it will no longer function as before, and should no longer be considered the same machine... It's just gone.

Well theres two parts to this discussion at least in my head, the logical part of my brain tells me that after you die there is 6 mins of brain activity still going on, now i know from experience that when your sleeping 6 mins in real life can be amazingly long period of time. At the same time i feel that, that is a very bleak future and i look towards me religion and it states that i will be reincarnated based on my karma. So it depends on what side you choose to go with :-)

Maybe that six minutes of dream time IS reincarnation...

So true but that inturns goes into your perspective of your life, or should i say the question is how do i actually know that i am here or that you are real? Or is this reality just a figment of my imagination? I honestly dont know that no one actually does.
