I do. I don't have a perfect relationship, but I have a damn good one. What's it like? Harmony. No unreasonable expectations, no dishonesty. We know what makes each other tick.

What about things like in-laws? Children? Money? How much or little attention you give each other? Do you constantly fight about stuff? Do you feel "connected" to each other?

I don't feel like my SO and I are connecting. We always are polite and kind to each other, but we I don't think we are passionate about each other.

None of my friends have a relationship similar to me, so it's no use talking to them.

I agree with Raz here, I am on the same level with my spouse and it usually is a rarety but by all means very possible.

Well what about in-laws? you should really only interact with them on the holidays, that eliminates stress and wearing out your welcome. Children? are they yours? his? both? grown. young? all these things matter to help with a solution..or at least an avenue of hope.

My husband is an acts of service kind of man...do we connect, ya in many ways, and then there are the dry bouts, its human nature. If you can write the good things that apply down on paper, and then add the irritating every day woes, then see which out weighs the other, that might help. Ask yourself, what do you want from him? you have to explore things, I did this, I just decided to open doors that seemed closed between Mike and I, and it worked, who knew he would be into my ideas of increasing our closeness and exploring..you would be surprised, our men want nothing more than for us to be happy, and let me tell you especially with them.

This is out there a bit but I will danger myself to say it.

it has been known that women give sex to get love and men give love to get sex, now if you apply this accordingly, and with wisdom, I will say it is the apple pie waiting to be sliced, done right, its the best pie you will ever eat.

Unfortunately this only works if you both know this rule or even understand its meaning. If the wife wants love but doesn't want to give sex then this falls apart quickly.

I think I have a fantastic relationship.

We respect each other and when we would like something of the other person we ask, politely.
There are no mind games in this relationship.
We communicate, even if it is something the other may not want to hear - but what one of us feels the other needs to hear.
We adore each other and fall in love more and more each day.
We enjoy each others company. Sure we have our off days and one of us may be a cranky bastard, but we still want to be with each other.
We have been through a lot both emotionally, mentally and physically. We have come up against some some large monsters in our lives and we are still here.
We find each other horribly sexy Even with our bumps, lumps, and saggage, we still think each other is the sexiest person alive (and neither of us believe the other when we say it :P)
We are friends and are genuinely interested in each others desires and goals.
We can usually acknowledge that we aren't cranky at the person, but external things and we understand.
We have the same ideals when it comes to parenting and relationships.
We get along with the in-laws. We each have a few issues with the others parents but no more than we have with our own
We share the same future plans.

We love each other

In-laws: My mother-in-law has been living in our home since we've been married. She is a wonderful person whom I look up to, deeply respect, and I feel fortunate she's been in my life and home.

The rest of my in-laws I could live without for the most part, and fortunately do except holidays.

My kids are great.

Money isn't an issue.

We give each other just the right amount of attention usually.

We have disagreements but have learned to make them mostly contructive and they aren't drawn out.

We feel very connected.

Stuff like that isn't the result of some magic chemistry or whatever, its the result of working at the relationship over time.

Hey I agree with you here...it works both ways..one should not supercede another on the basis of that cliche, but powerful cliche it is...very affective if you fully understand its meaning..most will experience an era of pain and departure by divorce or whatever before seeing the light in a true love/commitment...yet its secret lyes in this very cliche..and its fullness.

Everyday that I wake up next to the man I adore, I realize that we have an awesome relationship that only grows more and more as the minutes pass.

We have excellant communication, whether we are speaking in words or just by expressions and/or body movement. Unfortunately I haven't yet figured out all his little noises, but i'm getting the jest of them, and it's been fun learning.

When we find ourselves needing 'alone' time, its not a personal issue with either of us. We both work long days, have children to tend to when we get home, so most of our 'alone' time is driving to and from work, sometimes that just isn't enough. If that is the case, he usually jumps on his video games and blows things up. I like to either play my pogo site, or as im into research, I do alot of internet searching. Either way, we try to keep our sanity by not losing it with day to day stress.

But our best times are together with the kids, whether at a park, beach, concert or just taking a walk. Our times aren't directed as 'ah man, we cant do that with the kids', but more 'ah man, the kids cant do that'.
That's MS.BITCH to you....

Ras..gracious..

I know a man who's wife forbid him his natural bodily functions while in her presence. When she told us this I almost fell over, granted, respect one another here..or that sex life will get toned down real quick..women think differently then men here. Words as easy as excuse me can keep the flame kindled..

However, sometimes that too is not used often enough ( excuse me ) life just happens.

Oh..and the broad that tells her hubby to not do this..well uh..he would daily jog with a female partner from his work..and well now he is with her and not his wife..they divorced..go figure...

Oh yeah, I have a great relationship of my own! It clocks to 4Ghz at only 1.29V and 42C! When all is said and done I can run Crysis on very high settings at 1600 x 1050 @ 22~29fps, no noticeable lag. The fact that it runs Crysis so great proves that it loves me . It's probably been the best computer in the world to me. I should get it another fan or something to show it how much I appreciate it.

When it comes to his 'natural bodily functions', I can't ever imagining myself telling him 'not in my presence', just for the shear horror of the fact that we are together alot, the man would explode/implode/and anything else imaginable...I sure as heck dont want to have to clean up after he lets loose...ah man, noooooooooooooooooooooooooo thank you!

Good for you. At your age, you have your focus right where it needs to be. You'll thank yourself later.
