Default Finding love!

Having been a nerd for the past two years or so, I haven't been with a girl that entire time.

It's been so long. Any tips?

Well - For a start I'd say that I know how you feel - I've been "buried" in the geek-world for about three years now - Although I do turn off my computer from time to time in order to socialize with other people. I've known a woman for nine years and we are close on getting together now so I guess that's my clue to turn down the geek-stuff and start living my live away from the computer
To the world you are just someone - But to someone you ARE the world

Well, I've been less of a geek lately. I'm back skateboarding and such, and I'll be seeing a girl this Saturday...
Which is why I've posted; Again, it's been too long. :|

Good luck on the date

This sounds pretty cliched, but don't pretend. Don't regale her with tales of your WoW exploits, but at the same time, don't try to act like a non-geek either. If she's going on a date with you, then she knows you, hence she knows you're a geek and either likes it or at the very least doesn't mind it.

BTW - are you really 14? And you're disappointed you haven't been with a girl in 2 years? Damn... you Irish must grow up faster than us Canajuns.

Only 14 and still complaining! Things could get much worse in a geek's world :-P

It's not a date, she's just a skater I happened to meet last Saturday... Though with some luck, it could become one.

WoW exploits? I may have reached level 70, but I don't do that.
She doesn't really know me well.

Finally, yes, I am 14, but I have the mentality of a wise elder.

Just relax and be natural, man. Don't think about how you're going to behave, it'll only make you nervous. Just go and see what happens. If she's a cool chick, then 'all will be cool'.
Besides, you've still got a lot of time ahead of you. Just don't misbehave.

Being a geek and having a girlfriend is not hard. You first have to be sure that you don't go for what you immediately notice. I didn't think of my girlfriend as a possible girlfriend when I first met her. I was thinking of those other people that we all notice first. But once I noticed that she liked me and thought about it more, it made more sense.

Girls have a tendency to go "ew geek, run!" but once they get to know a few geeks the realize that geeks are really the guys that can make the best boyfriends (ahh hail geekdom!). Many geeks end up with secure jobs, and can be very useful. (I fix my girlfriend's computer, and her friend's computers too [so basically I know a ton of girls that think I am the best {self esteem +5}]). Many geeks are also what the girls call "sweet guys", geeks tend to value their girlfriends more because many geeks have had fewer girlfriends.

I can't remember where I was going with this.... I blame the "ADD" that I developed at college.... oh well, maybe someone can make use of that I said.

The fact that you wrote that confirms that you are, in fact, a geek.

Well, I decided not to go for it. I think she'd make a better friend.

Unbelievably, though, my plan did work. I skated insanely and almost killed myself, and two girls asked me for my phone number.
