Rasmusen polls show that 68% of Americans favor offshore drilling. Only 18% oppose the idea.

Should public opinion like this shape the next president's agenda?

HI Ras..
I think being the commander and chief of America he should take what is said of the American people into consideration..however he should never jump through hoops for American people based on polls. He has to always build his case on facts and future provisions that will benefit all, and the generations to come..otherwise he becomes puppeteer. Even with this poll as of late..the offshore oil drilling needs attention immediately, as with many other issues on the table..stable border protection. Its not going to be pretty for the next man in the big shoes, its a dirty job but someone has to do it..in it at least..someone must do it..

Right. He needs to stop saying he's going to be president of all the people, or whatever his line is.
