Tim Russert, host and moderator of the talk show Meet the Press, has died suddenly from what was said to be an apparent heart attack. He was 58. Russert hosted Neet the Press for a number of years, interviewing some of the most well-known top politicians of all time. He will truly be missed by a lot of people whose lives he touched and inspired. Last edited by Daquan13 : 06-14-2008 at 11:49 AM.

| Stirrer Of Shit | I just heard this on the radio. What a shame. I thought he was very good at what he did. I recall watching the live coverage of the 2000 election while on a deployment. He was on a panel or something, and he said something to the effect that the pivotal state was going to be Florida and he held up a piece of paper with Florida written on it. |

He had no health problems that anyone knows of. You just never know these days. It's truly a shock to the news / political world and he was a very famous person.

His doc released the results of the autopsy. It says that mr. Russert had asymtomatic coronary disease which led to hardening of the arteries. But that isn't what killed him. A fresh new blood clot had formed, broke off and lodged into one of the main arteries, triggering the heart attack. He was said to have things under control with medicine. He also passed a stress test back in April. Never even knew that the guy was sick at all!!

To add a non-American perspective on this topic ... ummm, Tim Who? (no need to answer - it is a rhetorical question, I realize the answer is in the first post - yes, there is a shortage of posts to reply to today ).

Don't tell me that you haven't heard of him. But if you've been following the race for the White House, how could you miss him? You probably DO know him, but he WAS a powerful figure in the political world.
