Personally I'm not thinking that menstruation and its effects (physically, mentally, emotionally, whatever) is something that should exclude women from any job. If I did, then I'd have to say women in most jobs should have a monthly holiday for several few days where they are removed from any job, including parenting.

No, sorry but I don't buy that line of thinking at all - everybody has their crosses to bear (no Christian metaphor intended) - menstruation is just one that most women have to deal with (how effectively they deal with it varies enormously). I'm sure it can also be a larger issue for some than others as it would be compounded by any related issues such as mental health.

Besides, Hillary is 60 years old, so I would think she'd have to be past that problem by now.

I agree that Rev. Wright is a distressing person to see associated with anybody who's got a shot at the Presidency. I didn't really bring him up (I remember talking about Obama's schooling) but it is a valid point of contention.

It's a tad bigoted to say that because 19 Muslims hijacked some planes and killed a lot of people, the population of ~1 billion Muslims around the world are not to be trusted and even spending time with them makes a person suspect.

I guess you could also turn around and say Christians aren't deserving of trust because of the Crusades and Inquisitions, and heavens, I know a pastor or two in my area, I guess I'm not worthy of trust.

I don't really trust anyone. I treat people like stocks. I look at past performance, consider the impending conditions, take into account whatever information I have, then decide whether I'll gamble on investing in them.

Have you ever considered reading something by someone with slightly different spiritual views like Deepak Chopra, or Eckhard Tolle?

No I have not considered these books..I go by the one book I grew up with that hold the keys to life which speak in depth of the HEART matters..I'll give you one clue..but I am sure its not necessary..In regards to what others may write about the heart may be intriguing none the less just words painted with color..Now can the colored words be applied to ones life, sure..but most are in vain. The heart is where the soul resides..not in the head..

By the way it strikes me quite odd that for a time when I clk quote in here I was receiving nothing but the words on white post background..and this was happening everytime, as most of you who have followed my post and tried to help me with this issue know.. Now suddenly I hit quote and its working with the reply on the quoted green background post..now thats weird. I wonder why this was not working like before..as it did wok when I joined this forum..go figure..I have done nothing different from the beginning to the this last post.

I voted for Obama in the primary. Overall, I liked his priorities, tone, and most of his policies better (between the three). He remarked in his bid to run, to the effect, he wasn't struck by the magnitude of the problems that the U.S. faces, but the smallness of our politics.

You know Obama has denounced those comments? This is what's wrong wit the U.S. People focus on stupid issues, and then elect a moron like Bush.

Hey if you were running for presidency and this lil mishap surfaced, wouldnt you denounce it? and just because that is the case doesnt say its not what Obama truly believes..I mean he continued to attend the church services for 20 years under this mans somewhat spiritual dictatorship. Would you continue to attend that church if you did not inherently believe what your pastor discerns as Christianity? not me..I would move on and find what I am looking for. Nothing is perfect understand..but you can discern what is evil and what is good for the most part..this is why its hard for me to believe otherwise with Obama. Had the media make light of his situation and say he attended that church for two years only..then de-parted..well that I can almost grasp..although two years is even so a long term to be lead by such madness..but granted, I may give Obama the benefit of the doubt then..but 20 years yaaarrgg, thats kind of scary..

Well that's a valid point. We can look at it another way as well though. Since Obama was at the church for 20 years, maybe there is more positive substance to his pastor than how he's been negatively portrayed in these 30 second sound snippets?

Well I see your point as well, but when confronted he stood by the negativities..whats up with that? you only come forth mostly with that which you you believe..you will enforce it first and foremost opposed to what may remain in the background. See? Wright did this. I saw him on CNN and was blown away..he was loud abrupt..biased and I am sorry the list goes on..I am sure its on you tube somewhere..Had he been a bit more subdued, acting under Gods authority and scripture in its rightful place to back up what he said..well then again I may have been a little more insightful to what he was saying. However..I did not see that..I saw someone who is still at the wheel driving his own thoughts into a place of victory..I didnt see a spirit of submission to that of the God in which he sais he serves..time and again this has surfaced..this back door preaching.

We are all inevitably flawed, dont get me wrong..me in first place. I just believe if your practicing what your preaching it will surface first..well..that is what is coming out in the lead with Wright..everytime he speaks..its uncomfortable..
