| It's very bad when a non-US citizen has to start these threads ![]() This is a very hot topic in Europe never mind in the US as nobody in Europe wants to see another Bush elected. The battle between Clinton and Obama has caught everyones attention and I'd like to see some feedback from members. Particularly now that the race is so close. Today being the "Potomac" primary, do you think Clinton is right to have moved on to Texas and basically stop fighting the Obama roller coaster in states she doesn't think she can win. Personally, I think she's making a mistake. Particularly if as they say Virginia is still up for grabs. ****************** I'm keeping the democratic and republican threads separate as I would like these threads to be about the campaigns rather than a blue vs. red contest. |

| I think a lot are like me in that they think Clinton and Obama are both excellent candidates. Personally I'm undecided who I'd prefer to win, but whichever it is, I'd like to see them kiss and make up after and the other one become the VP candidate. |

| Clinton seems to be lagging now. I thinks she's losing her popularity, as Obama is making practically a clean sweep across the country. She MUST bounce back by March 4, or she's out of the race! |

| I don't know if she can bounce back. I though it was very bad for a presidential candidate to admit that neither she nor her staff fully understood the rules regarding primary and caucus delegate proportions in Texas. Political Punch |

| And she made some controversial remarks about Obama's wife, who had nothing to do with the race at all. I think she might have nailed her own coffin shut. She made some bad moves that could hurt her bid for the White House. Last edited by Daquan13 : 02-21-2008 at 08:06 AM. |

| Interested participant | If Hillary Clinton fell in a crowded street, she would instantly grab another person's arm as she fell. She will not give up until she has brought down Obama in a significant way, and unfortunately she refuses to be defeated without splitting and damaging the Democratic party. Shame. |

| At this point, it'll take a miracle for her to catch up to and pass Obama. He's come too far now to be trounced by her! Last edited by Daquan13 : 02-22-2008 at 01:47 PM. |

| Stirrer Of Shit | You can forget that right now. It'll never happen. Hilary will not take anyone as a VP except a white male. I seriously doubt Obama would consider Clinton as a VP either, not that she'd entertain for the second the idea of taking the offer. More likely, her machine would work to see Obama defeated so she'd have some chance of the presidency again four years later. |

| Now Hill is trying to attack Obama again by saying that he doesn't know what he's doing. Well, in my book, he must know SOMETHING because he's ahead of her!! She's trying everything in the book, trying to pull out all stops to get ahead, but so far, nothing is working. |

If Clinton gets the nom, the only one who could really get the younger and African American majority is Obama. If she can't get him on board it will probably be a McCain victory. On the oppoisite if Obama get the nom, he could go with Hillary but there are a million and one others like Hillary that would be less likely to stir up another controversy. So Obama most likely would not pick Hillary as a VP. One thing I don't like about the whole race is that Hillary has been using severely poor and cheap political tactics throughout her campain. I actually had one of my professors bring in all the political flyers he had picked up and received in his mail to use for material in the class. The major point is that 90% of the flyers from Hillary's campain were all about attacking Obama on one thing or another. None of the Obama flyers even mentioned Hillary or her campain issues. One of the reasons I like Obama better than Hillary is that his campain is about 600% cleaner than hers. While I like that the campain is continuing I really think Hillary needs to stop with the attack tactics. It will just hurt the party more later on. | |
