Iranians chant 'death to Israel' in mass protest


Woohoo. Fighting and Faith. The peaceful religion of Islam. Someone jog my memory, I'm trying to recall the last time thousands of members of another religion got together to call for the death of a country.

I wonder where all the atheists went. There used to be a lot of them here.

Isn't it interesting how the demographics and sociopolitical/religious stances of forums change? Well, not really, but you know what I mean.

What I want to know is where all the pro-Iranian/anti-American/anti-Israeli folks are. They know who they are, and the silence is deafening.

There will be some lame reason why America causes Iranians to chant thusly. Like the same lame reasons why Jihadists (Islamo Fascists) have committed unthinkable acts of terror and murder.

I still stop in every few weeks to see if anything interesting has come up. I can explain why everyone left, but you'd probably take it as an attack or an invitation to argue, and I'm not really interested.

You know, I resumed posting here earlier on today. Before then, my last post was made four weeks ago. My leaving had absolutely nothing to do with Eric.

Oh it wasn't Eric, it was the general lack of discussion on such subjects. No one wanted to talk about anything, they wanted to rant, make their opinion heard, then drop the subject. There are several of us on a board now that is actually a non-theist board, but have a lot of religious members that are willing to discuss their views, not insist on them.

Someone needs to go slap some Iranians *spelling* lol and wake them up to the real world and grow up. Damn people are retarded.

Two of the neighbours of Iran are occupied, two controlled by Pro-American dictators, Isreal has Midrange missiles and probably nukes targeted at Teheran (8 Million live there).

And the country itself is threatened to be invaded and bombed beyond all recognition.

And you really think they would sing kumbaya, and praise the West? It's a miracle you can breath with that intelligence.

Honestly, I thought the claim was too dumb to comment on. Some things, if they need to be explained, are probably a waste of time. Since if a person making such a claim possessed the ability to understand the explanation, they wouldn't hold the view in the first place.

Note the OP is implying the religion is making them violent. He could have well attributed the cause to their race. But this counter-factual statement that's implied is about as dumb as it gets:

"Were these people Christians, they wouldn't be doing this"

And, I'm going to have to agree with yaaarrrgg. You can find this same behavior on both sides of any conflict. Some woman on Fox News, the other day, said she hates all Iranians. I'm sure she could get some people to chant it with her. Whoopty-do.

Iran's belligerent and provocative attitude is what dragged them into this shit; now they can drag themselves back out of it. In the meantime, you should read into the military doctrine of mutually assured destruction.

Since when was the kidnapping of another state's naval personnel, the usurpation of a foreign country's embassy and a (possibly idle) threat to wipe another country "off the map" a diplomatic call for open dialog?

I don't remember clearly, but weren't there some marches in support of the Iraq War? Anyway, if not, to my eyes there were plenty (more than 10s of thousands) who supported the Iraq war for no reason more than the hatred that has been stirred up by the propaganda. Whether or not they felt a need to express that is really irrelevant - they didn't need to, their Government went ahead with an invasion instead. And yes, I would bet the vast, vast majority would call themselves "christians" if you asked them their religion.
