got 95%

did not know

"8. Which of the following amendments to the Constitution does NOT address or guarantee voting rights?"

this test is a joke lol some possible answers just make no sense at all.

6. What are the first 10 amendments to the Constitution called?
The Preamble
The Bill of Rights
First Ten Amendments

I got 95%. The one I missed was, "What INS form is used to apply to become a naturalized citizen?" I don't really feel bad about missing that one.

Seriously though, what's the point of the test? Why does it matter if immigrants know U.S. history? What's that got to do with anything?

I can see how that one would be hard. It would be easy to know what rights were guaranteed without knowing the numbers associated with them.

Yeah, that's pretty silly. But all multiple choice tests are like that. Well... with a few exceptions. I once had a Western Civilization professor who gave multiple choice questions, with answers A-L, and no dummy answers!

And, BTW, they are sometimes called the "First Ten Amendments" even though that's not what they're looking for.

You answered 75% of questions correctly.

Couldn't recall the 13 original states, who said "Give me liberty or give me death", what INS form is used for naturalization and which three rights or freedoms are guaranteed by the Bill of Rights.

I answered "Right to life, right to liberty, right to the pursuit of happiness" to the last one, but aparantly that's from Declaration of Independence.

Oh and I skipped 8, "Which of the following amendments to the Constitution does NOT address or guarantee voting rights". Didn't have a clue.

Next up "Could you pass the Dutch citizenship test?".

Got only 40% right. So just knowing history and the constitution makes you a good US citizen?

is that test online somewhere ?

(...)It's also a misnomer to refer to the process as a "test," as it really consists of at least three "pre-tests" conducted over the phone before the applicant can then apply at the Dutch embassy in his or her country to register for the actual, hour-long immigration exam on geographical, historical and language issues.

Those who have dutifully completed their preparation tests should know for example, that nude bathing is legal in the Netherlands, and that "Pindakaas" is not a kind of cheese, but rather peanut butter. The test costs a hefty 350 euros ($420), not including the preparation packet (63 euros) and DVD meant to make immigrants ready for life in the tolerant Netherlands by showing them images of topless female bathers and gay men kissing.(... source)

90%

I picked the Senate for Supreme Court Justices, since they have to approve them. I guess the Prez technically selects them. And I missed the one on which form to become a citizen.
For just an instant, have a glimpse, a vision, of life through my eyes. It is a staggeringly joyous perspective, a view of how each person's choices can make their own life better. It is a vision of the possible, of how things can and should be.

45-60%: Not too bad, but you really need to break out the civics books again -- word is, the INS is looking for an 80 percent score.

Well, I'm not a U.S citizen, so I don't have to feel ashamed.

Got false on 3,4,5,9 (this one was the hardest, I know the countries of the world rather well, but the US states... :/ ),12,14,15,16,19

Almost missed one - I had to guess about the form for applying for naturalization.

Same for me. I had it narrowed down to A and B, and went with B, since "petition for naturalization" sounds too old school for such a new agency.

I thought that question was vague too. I know exactly how it works, but I wasn't 100% sure which answer they were looking for. Bad question.

Wait a minute, I'm not sure Hawaiians are allowed to apply for citizenship, are they?

Seriously.
