I agree. The only thing I know to do right now is talk at people. Because, as I see it, it's the people who will create a change. So until the general population sees the need no change will take place. If I come across someone who looks as though they are trying to create the right changes, I'll get behind them and lend my support.

@bns: Discussing is doing something. Trying to figure out what has to change and how to get there. Perhaps there are activities in local political parties?(dont know how that works in the US) Finding other people who also think some kind of change is needed will help.

Starting an organization, for it, running for congress would be the ultimate thing. Anyway, having some kind of organization is important, because then you can start setting up a campaign.
Public advertising 'get Firefox' style will help, and can then be done. There are many websites that will gladly have such a banner, like boingboing.net, digg.com (with many diggs to convince em) perhaps slashdot, and various comic series like xkcd.com, might be convincable to do this. Anyone with a personal website, and who agree with the points, potentially.

I do not think anyone can really expect that from a single person, though. But we should expect it from someone out of the entire society. If you are not that person, i guess just spread the word. Maybe the initial organization can be set up in a small way. (of course, who steps up to its leadership, should not be some kind of idiot.) If this organization does not know what the goals are that should be clear, and the goal should then be to find the goals. Without a clear goal, the organization might find itself floundering.
Although i am an outsider from the Netherlands, should try structuring my ideas on this more and post it some day.

@Jasper: Yeah, I had thought of things along those lines. I think the most important thing is to find a core group who thinks about the situation and who are in it for real. Then you try to garner support from the public, and you can use the talents of a group instead of just one person. We'll see what happens. But I'm pretty determined to give it a shot and see if something can be done.

Good question. Unless you're a criminal you have nothing to fear from your Government?

And I fully support that right... until it comes to murdering other Americans. At that juncture, the rights of the terrorist are thrown out the window, and the rights of the potential victims come into play.

(Disclaimer: I know KIAaze was only joking. I'm responding to this from the scenario of a real terrorist being involved.)

Do you even understand why these terrorists do what they do?

So you support the killing of innocent civilians?

I didn't say that, there is a reason why people do what they do.

I'll take that as a yes then.

I know the reasoning behind terrorists initiating their attacks on Western countries. Supposedly, so do you. You're a terrorist-sympathiser, period.

A:Big Dave knows the reasoning behind terrorists initiating their attacks on Western countries.
B:seisen knows the reasoning behind terrorists initiating their attacks on Western countries.

B=>D:seisen is a terrorist-sympathiser

If one can make such a deduction, one can also deduce the following:
A=>C:Big Dave is a terrorist-sympathiser

Unless of course Big Dave and seisen do not follow the same laws.
Which is easily possible. ^^

Sweet I'm a terrorist sympathiser, yes I reached my dreams and goals.

Actually I'm joking, anyways the word terrorist is such nasty word which installs fear in people. What exactly is a terrorist, I could view Bush as a terrorist for going to Iraq and killing innocent civilans.
