| The trouble with the Greens, in Canada anyway, is that they're similar to the NDP. IN BC, a lot of ridings that ended up electing a Liberal candidate (including the Premier's own riding, Vancouver-Pt. Grey) might have gotten a lefty representative if the vote hadn't been split between the NDP and the Greens. Since the Greens are a relatively new party, I think a lot of people are afraid to vote for them and go NDP instead, since they have more of a chance. However, on a national scale, the Greens got a solid 4% of the vote last election, yet still no seats. Proportional representation, anyone? |
