| I voted wft. I'm not french, although I was born in France and lived there until I was nine. I think french people voted this new president because of the fear of insecurity because this new president has been the Minister of the Interior, responsable for the security forces in France in a previous goverment. When he was minister of the Interior, he was very authoritative and the police/gendarmerie became very authorathive too, leading to the Paris riots in 2006, when the community of magreb countries living in Paris rebelled against the police. IMHO it's too bad that Ségolène lost the elections, but there is a possibility that she might become the future prime-minister in the next government elections in a few weeks from now. I think she already sasid she's a candidate. So wtf, they fought for the presidency and maybe they will have to work together for the next years. Maybe it's better this way. If Sarkozy became prime-minister and Ségolène President, maybe things could get worst in France. |

well maybe just that their policys on welfare, the economy, education and public spending are fairer, make more financial sense, and dont drown cause the legal system to become more of a mess than it is now, at least thats why i voted Tory in the last two elections. Oh, but i do disagree with sarkozys views on open source software ![]() | |
