It's crazy...I can't even afford to pay the 2.79 that it's at now where I live...AHH I don't want it to go higher!!! I think everyone should boycott and walk or something...but then again...I have to walk over 15 miles to get to work...when I start.

Yes. Gas prices are a big big problem all over the world. We are literally running out of gas and we have no poroper replacement. So it probably starts to be extremely huge problem lets say when we retire.

Missmiamya...

I don't think walking is a good idea...... where i live it is most of the time .. so can you imagine everybody walking and go to work sweathy and messy to work.... not a pretty sight...

They tried a couple of years ago to try to motivate people to drive less or to use 1 car per household instead of 2 or 4 but didn't work... people love to drive their cars even if it is to go to the Toko (mini supermarket in the neigbourhood) to buy bread.

Gas prices are out of control! I paid 3.30 this weekend because I absolutely had to get gas and I was in the middle of nowhere!

You guys know that we had electric cars 10 years ago right? You know that GM took them all back and crushed them right? http://www.sonyclassics.com/whokilledtheelectriccar/

Yeah, I know. I remember when they first came out. They were really innovative - still are. But ultimately, they only truly help when the energy collected to power it is solar, wind, hydro... something that doesn't hurt the environment. It's a trickly little pitfall.

Personally I think we should all go back to horses. If you want a clean environment, use something completely natural. Even further, I say go back to swords instead of guns (kill a man hand-to-hand, not from afar without thought). But I guess I'm old fashioned.

The gas prices in our area keep fluxuating. One hour their $2.93 and a few hours later it's $3.00. It's crazy.

Man, 4 pages? Nice.

The problem with prices though is they seem to never go down. We have cases like after Katrina where they skyrocket to nearly 4 dollars a gallon, then go down to 2.xx. Then it seems low. But it truly never returns to prices that would match inflation. Blame it on the war, greedy oil companies, or whatever, but we really need to either pressure car manufacturers to make more hybrids, OR go with diesel. In Europe, they are having great experiences with diesel cars that don't have the same problems that we had in the 70s; the smell, high prices, etc.

The new Jetta Golf that uses Diesel beat the Prius for mileage.
