I voted yes as I want them to join. Probably not yet but in some years when they got rid of their problems with human rights.

I think one of the biggest problems for politicians letting Turkey join is about it's many citizens - about 77M.

That would place them second in votes in EUP after Germany(99), and I'm quite sure it wouldn't please France(78), Italy(78) and the UK(78) giving up their second place with their about 60M citizens.

Julian

  1. Is not in European maps
  2. The don't recognize human rights
  3. The don't recognize Pontos and Armenia genocide
  4. The don't respect international low. For example they don't accept that agean is Greek territory, and they don't accept 12miles for insular shelf for every island.
Sorry for my English is not my mother tongue

Turkey, as many other countries, should join EU as soon as they are ready for it. Mainly thinking about the human rights issues here.

Wow, this clip was rude. Bulgaria has its problems. But turks are not the only one and not the biggest one.

You need reasons…
Sorry I cannot explain you completely, because I can’t speak/write English very well. And you may not understand my reasons.

YES.

Because,It would help the Turkey people, wo are living already
in a state of the E.U. Travel for example, as well to make there
integration more easy to the rest of the continent and I mean
that not in a fascism way.
Not to mention that Berlin is called, jokewise, the 2nd biggest
Turkey city.
Not to mention the cashflow who leaves the E.U. zone.

But, on the other hand Turkey has some homework to do, for
example Kurdistan, separation from state and religion,
acknowledgement of international law, human rights, etc.
An integration to the E.U. would mean, that they would get some
feedback out of the E.U. to such problems and I don't wonna
offend anybody but Turkey is cooking there owne soup. They did
it the last centuries and young can not learn it in a day.
An Intergration of Turkey to the E.U. would be deffinetly
an enrichment to both sites.

Now, I would like to say something about this thread what realy
iritated me:
You guys think everybody and everwhere is english the main language. WRONG !!!
I would like to see some of the smarties here, talk and write in
only ONE other language.
If you people would like to see some honestly feedback from
other people somewhere else, then a country where the mother language is not english in one of his thousand forms,
then PLEASE look over some grammer problems. Because, also such statements are not realy polite.

Excuse me? As I could not remember having seen any offensive statements regarding English-issues in the thread I looked all over it again and didnt find none.

Could you please post the mentioned lines?

Habe ich irgendwo Deinen Namen erwaehnt ?! Nein.
Did I mention somewhere your name ?! NO

Aber hier sind die betroffene Zeilen, aus der ersten Seite dieses
Beitrages:

You are too harsh. You could express your opinion in a more polite way. Further more, I suggest you to work your English - improve it to a better level, because now it looks really like "foreign language" for you.

Awesome, but not everybody is as smart as you.
Actually, I realy mean that as a compliment.
Super, aber nicht jeder ist so schlau wie Du.
Und damit moechte ich Dich nicht beleidigen, sondern meine das
mehr als ein Kompliment

I did not claim that I just asked for some further informations. There's no need to shout.

Well he could have chosen his words more carefully. Actually, it looks rather like some constructive criticism than some sort of insult.

That was from one bulgarian to another ... he was already talking in a foreign language.
One guy in one post is enough to irritate you ?

Several of us speak, read, and write in more than one language. Don't let grumpy people who nitpick about grammar get to you. Express your thoughts as well as you can and keep trying to improve.

Good advice. If you want to see some embarrassing english, just search some of my posts here and at ubuntu forums. And I'm 50 years old...

I can attest to rj's bad grammar and spelling. And he can attest to my surly nature. However, not as surly as Mr. Lux9698 is coming off.
In case it wasn't apparent, sarcasm is yet another free service I offer.

I live in Italy and according to many posts I could say that ITALY SHOULD NOT BE PART of EU.

1- we are not a laic country. We are ruled by the church
2- we are racist. The vatican said that gays should be considered pedophiles and we have racist parties. (this apply to many EU countries)
3- we do not have a stable government.
4- we still have fascist parties (this apply to many EU countries)
5- In the south (not only there however) of Italy illiteracy is very common
6- people are TV and VIPs addicted just like many 3rd world people
7- we have secular monopolies

Is Turkey worst than Italy then?
