It might happen but I highly (x10) doubt that they would ever win the election. Everyone's right, the United States hardly supports gay marriage, there is no way they'll support a gay president. I think some people are just too narrow minded.

The United States is to narrow minded, and are not ready for a homosexual to run for President. Like other posters have said, our country hasn’t really excepted gay marriages. Plus we haven’t even had a female or an African American run yet, and I know our country would flip even if one of those were elected in. I think it would be a nice change, and I would definitely support it.

hmm i don't think it will happen Homosexual people in the US are a minority and people have a false persepcition of gay people (especially men) that they are weak, and not "men" enough to do that sort of job, which is of course untrue. most people in the US use the words gay and everything tied to it as an insult.. so there is the first hint that it, sadly, could never happen, because being gay has nothing to do with you capabilty to run a country.. it's like women, i don't think there will ever get to be a woman president just because they americans have a certain view of them that isn't easy to shake. the same senario goes for black people. really... it's sad but true

Ok, Bush isn't Catholic, he's Methodist. Also, the government can't ban a non-hetero from being in office if one is elected. It's not like one would ever get elected though considering all the small-minded homophobes that are out there. And what exactly does "true country" mean? I don't see what exactly stops us being a "true country". Maybe a "divided country" or a "conservative country", but "true country" makes no sense. And finally, "persepcition" ahahaha. I don't care about having a gay/straight/black/white/woman/male president, just about having a GOOD one. Yeah, we have higher chances of having a black Jewish tranny as our president!
