| Out of five stars, I give it 2. There is good information in the movie but it seems like a wasted opportunity. The filmmaker, Robert Greenwald, has something of a reputation and could have done something a lot better. I guess I assumed he had a different political philosophy than he apparently does. Seems he believes the path to change is to convince Right Wing Bush supporters that they are backing the wrong guy. The movie was obviously designed to appeal to the sensibilities of right-leaning types who might sympathize with US mercenaries getting screwed by their mercenary corporations. When I saw the name of this film, I thought it would be something about how the corporations and the US government privatized the industries of Iraq after invading. Effectively putting Iraq up for sale for private companies from the US, Europe, Japan and China. Instead, there was virtually no mention of Iraqi life. It was all about these white merc a-holes from the US that went to Iraq to profit from the calamity and got screwed by even bigger a-holes running the companies employing them. Good information about the level of graft going on but really bad politics, Greenwald. ![]() |
