About 10 Moroccan Dirhams per liter. Let's see... 1 Liter = 0.264 US Gallons, 1 Moroccan Dirham = 0.12 US Dollars (on 10 May 2007) That means we're paying about $1.20/0.264 gallons. Or about $4.55/gallon.

I would love for gas stations to post what we are paying in tax per gallon. I think its illegal to do so ATM... I drive 40 to work, 40 mile home every day. Right now I'm working 6 days a week. It makes me sick to think of how much I pay per month.

You mean petrol right? because gas isn't sold as far as I know I breath it in for free every day. Prices in the UK are quite high, £1 per liter, 3.785 liters per US Gallon* and $2 per £1 that's: $7.57 per US Gallon ($9.10 per UK Gallon) Interesting how you complain about such low petrol prices, you should try real taxes. * 4.546 liters per UK Gallon because we sort changed the US many years ago and they fell for it like suckers.

Here in France it's round 1.15 for 1l of diesel and 1.35-1.40 for the premium thingy. 80% tax. Major tax income. (regular tax is 19.6 %, some items are 5.5%). At some point there was a "floating tax rate" applied. When barrel prices would go up, tax % would go down to level out the actual liter price. It's been stopped now. Looks like when barrel price goes up, gas price goes up right away, and does not go down as quickly as world market prices... Some economists here foresee that when a barrel will hit the 400 mark, we'll start considering environmental issues ![]()

Hi all. I live in Venezuela, an oil-rich nation but a poor people's land. Here I pay US $ 0.17 for an US gallon of premiun gas. Our gas is highly subsidized (sorry for the spelling), something like the US corn. Regards, Carlos.

I commend Chavez for what he does their. The United States wouldn't be such a clusterf#@k if we tried helping the poor instead of worrying about how to line our pockets with more money. That is the reason why Bush hates Chavez so much.

Don΄t be fooled by Chavez either. The country have been receiving the biggest incomes the last 8 years (during all his "terms" as president) but he has being a very bad manager and the money has not being well invested (plus the huge amount of corruption in his government) so the nation is just as poor as always, maybe even poorer. Besides, under his rule, we are experiencing restriction of freedom i a variety of ways: speech, political filiation (anybody that doesnt like his ideas "is against him" in his own words), justice administration and more. He has converted the republic in a mega owner of industries and services, just to show in the long term that they have no capabilitie for managing this industries. Regards, Carlos.
