Was a big fan of Chuck Schuldinger , even after he died. Though he did have a habit of recruiting bad guitar players (I didnt think much of Rick Rozz). Death Metal is hard to come by these days thats any good. I still on occasion break out my Napalm Death and Sodom (Baptism of Fire is just a kick ass song to me) albums. In the way of Thrash metal bands, Id have to consider Testament tops on that list. Hard to beat Alex Skolnik's guitar playing or Clemente's drum style. Another favorite, Coroner (more of a Technical power thrash metal band, but still good). Slayer...classic slayer was good. Before kicking and rehiring Dave Lombardo became a usual thing. Id count Haunting the Chapel, South of Heaven, Raining Blood and probably Show No Mercy as their best albums. I felt Seasons was an utter failure for them (despite the fact it bred their first rather dull set of Music videos). Other bands to consider Exodus, Candlemass/Nemesis, MercyfulFate/KingDiamond(if you like the high screaming types), Carnivore (and its post-decessor Type O Negative), Draconian, Crowbar (if you can find any). Hellhammer, Cletic Frost, Iced Earth, and the like.

I never got too into Slayer. They were just a casual listen kind of band. I still hold Metallica's first 2 albums close to heart. Early Megadeth and Sodom (ANGELRIPPER!) as well. Agree with what you said about Death (and the same could go for Iced Earth). Way too many lineup changes between albums. Although I have a feeling that the latest IE lineup might stay for a while (Night of the Stormrider is still my personal favorite). Ever listen to Anata (Swedish tech death)? They've been pumping out of my speakers non-stop for the past month or so.

Hmmm, never heard of Anata. Have become a recent fan of the Warmen, Cacaphony, Concerto Moon, and Shadow Gallery. Different sound, but interesting none the less. Voivod before they went all lasery and newagey sounding (pre NothingFace, though the song Into My HyperCube is a classic). CoC (Corrosion of Conformity) if you can find stuff by them as well. Prong (prove you wrong is a classic bit), and Oddly, the Bad Brains. But I think we are getting off track here. Oh, gotta say I love me some Infectious Grooves when im in the mood (or Suicidal Tendencies for that matter). Hey, anyone listen it Minor Threat at all?

How about Kreator? The guy's German accent used to crack me up, though.

| I see the Fnords. | The Dethklok, Dethalbum officially released this week. I've had it for a couple weeks already, and it's the best thing since sliced bread, IMO. I find it kind of sad that a cartoon band can release a better metal album than most two real metal bands, put together. |

For just an instant, have a glimpse, a vision, of life through my eyes. It is a staggeringly joyous perspective, a view of how each person's choices can make their own life better. It is a vision of the possible, of how things can and should be.
