I play bassoon.

Oh, the bassoon can be an absolutely gorgeous sounding instrument--please encourage more people to pick it up!

I don't play any instrument, because I am not musical person. But! If only I could, I could play the piano! Its vibrant deep tones melt my heart! I love the feeling of bass trembling inside me.

Having tried to play stringed instruments and failed (how do you get your fingers to do those shapes???) I took up Melodeon. (Squeezebox)
It's not a piano accordion - the notes are arranged like a harmonica but with bellows (and it plays different notes on push and pull.)

I'm not very good at it; but I do enjoy those big fat chord sounds!

I've played guitar since 1960. Sheesh, I'm getting old. At one time I had 7 of the things, now only 5. Otherwise, I've been able to play pretty much any musical instrument I come in contact with. Piano, recorder, violin, clarinet, etc.

For the past year or so I've been studying old Jazz Standards. Those guys really knew their music. It really is more 'studying' the tunes than 'learning' them. And when I work on those tunes, I'm able to really show off when I sit in on a blues or bluegrass jam session.

I haven't played live in tooooo long. I need to force myself back into that ASAP.

That sounds fun...I may have to do this as well.

the solos in the stravinsky ballets are beautiful. everything else pretty much sounds like the theme from the alfred hitchcock show.

I can play the keyboard a bit, (relying on the stuff that they teach you at school) i'm not very good though, i can only play a few tunes, nothing fancy, and i can only use 1 hand.

Well, what do I know? I think the theremin is pretty cool, too.

I had to look that up on Google...I had never heard of it. I won't ask how you learned to make a qualitative differential analysis of poop vs. chocolate.

I played the cornet in grade school, until the music teacher made me quit.
