No problem. Let's all jam together starting now.

I've been playing guitar for about 6 years. I got a new Fender American Telecaster for Christmas- maybe we can add a new amp this year?

Yeah, I love my Tele. In my opinion, it's the best electric guitar. I've never been a big Gibson fan and that's probably a large reason why I feel the way I do.

I know you're hoping for a new amp, but what do you have currently? (And what would you like to have?)

I currently have a Marshall solid state (I believe it's a MG80, about 5 years old). I'd really like to get a Fender tube amp- either the Twin Amp or one of the Vibro-series amps.

I've played through almost everything over the years, though.
That's pretty sweet. I especially like the Fender vintage style knobs on it, very nice!

It has a great sound, too. It's very much like a blackface Fender, not as loud as a Twin, but louder than a Deluxe, probably most like a Vibrolux, but without the hiss noise problem--quiet enough for practice at home, yet loud enough for venues up to 300 people without needing a microphone.

With the tube rectifier you get some nice "sag" and compression, so I can totally nail the classic rock/blues sounds. It has done well with everything I've thrown at it, except for high-gain styles...but that's what pedals are for, right? Well, it might not have enough clean volume for jazz in even a medium-sized venue, as it will start to break up nicely at around 6. For smaller locations, though, you could pull it off.
I really want to take a look at a Two Rock half stack. Some of the clean sounds that can come out of their amps are really, really nice.

Check them out: Two-Rock Amplification

Wow. They have some nice looking stuff! (a little out of my price range, though, but a guy can dream...)

Yeah, I know. They are very expensive, but the upside is that they are all handmade and the builders work very closely with you to determine exactly what you want. This isn't usual for production pieces, but the owners are very consumer friendly from what I hear.

I'm principally a clarinetist who specializes in Jazz; however, due to the current atmosphere of Jazz circles in general, I've been forced to pick up the saxophone as well. Additionally, I dabble in piano and a bit of percussion work.

I'm fond of most genres outside rap - most notably Jazz, Classical, Opera, Rock, Blues, and a few others.

I play guitar, trumpet, and I sing. I've got all kinds of gear pictures, I'm a bit of a gear nut. I have over 8k posts on Harmony-Central, almost all on the amp forum.

College Rig/Current:

Previous amps/rigs:

(That's me on the right)

I'm currently using a G&L Legacy with premium transparent red on a swamp ash body, maple neck/fingerboard with gun oil tin and a pearloid pickguard. I also have a Fender MIM 48th Street Special Strat (also red with pearloid, although rosewood board and poplar body), which is loaded with Fralin pickups.

I'm playing a Valvetech VAC22 1x12 combo, greenback speakers, four inputs with a built in boost, 12ax7s and 6v6s-- very Marshall JMP like with a little Fender Deluxe in it.

I've played/owned an Orange Rocker 30, Crate Palomino V16, Marshall DSL100, and Carvin MTS3200.

I no longer have the Brian Moore single cut guitar seen in those pics.
