Default Men watching chick flicks

Hi,

Any men out there willing to admit to sometimes watching TV shows/movies made primarily for women?

I'll start. If I had favourite TV shows, one of them would be Charmed. I'm just a sucker for Alyssa Milano in tight pants and low-cut shirts.

But then, you would be watching it for the pretty woman in the show, not for the content itself

It all depends on what you define as 'chick flicks'/'primarily for women'...

I don't watch many TV shows unless I can rent them on DVD. There was this movie I liked a lot - I think it was called "Wicker Park." Definately a chick flick.

All the time.

My wife loves "Gilmore Girls," and I got hooked because it was so quick and witty.

I love reading Jane Austin for the same reason.

I also enjoy romantic-comedy-type movies.

I'm happy to say I don't watch many 'chick flic' types of films/programmes. However, I did like the film "Notting Hill". I think that has to be about it though!

The story is definitely secondary and at times down right annoying.

And you get brownie points for watching movies that she likes and that you "hate."

Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls are kind of chick flicks, right?

Have you seen the A&E version of Pride and Prejudice? It's much better than the new theater version. Check it out, if you can find it.

I've watched all six hours at least 3 or 4 times. It is worth it. (I can't believe I just admitted that publicly. I must be growing...)

It's a television station in the USA (and other places, too, but I think it's American in origin). The letters stand for "Arts and Entertainment" and it tends to cater to more sophisticated and artistic shows...tends to, anyway. They have produced some quality movies and TV shows.

I don't often, but I wouldn't really be ashamed to admit it. Most of those shows just don't appeal to me. They usually make very obvious points that perhaps the average viewer doesn't think about often, but most "thinkers" are well aware of. I just really love to watch anything that's interesting, to be honest.

I will agree that pride and prejudice (as well as most of Jane Austen's stuff) is quite good...at least the book is. I couldn't bear to finish watching the movies, I thought they were a little dull.

I could watch anything with Alyssa Milano in it. As far as watching a chick flick for the sake of watching chick flicks, I don't seek them out but get sucked in from time to time. The only one that comes to mind is Chocolat but there have been others. It doesn't embarrass me but I also don't go around bragging about it.
