I recently saw the Mexican movie "El Laberinto del Fauno" (Stupid american title: Pan's Labyrinth), and I'm amazed. I've already seen it two times, and it was just as amazing the second time. I can probably see it a third too. I simply love it, it's so wonderful.

Donnie Darko's also a great movie. I think I've seen it five or six times, and I own both the regular version as well as the Director's Cut on DVD.

I'd also say Children of Men, Donnie Darko, Highlander, Layer Cake, Star Trek: Nemesis and The Green Mile.

All excellent movies.

All the movies on my fav. list are comedies.
You need to see:
-Eurotrip
-Ali G Indahouse
-Dude, Where's My Car?
I'm planning to see:
-Mr. Bean's Holiday
-Shrek 3

If you can, watch tv series The War At Home. They're hilarious, better than any other.

You guys should watch 28 Days Later, it's a pretty good horror movie, that's not zombie/vampire related.

Im really starting to get into the grindhouse / B movie fare of Herschell Gordon Lewis. Three of his movies I can reccommend (All can be purchased from Something Weird Video )

1) Blood Feast -- THis is the first slasher / gore film created. Made for a budget of $20,000, this movie has bad acting, bad direction, bad plot, but good gore (for its time). This movie is worth a purchase.

2) Two Thousand Maniacs -- THe follow up to Blood Feast. This time around we have passable acting, passable direction, and an intruiging plot. Six northerners are driving around the south, and are forced to detour into a town of Pleasant Valley for thier centennial celebration. What happens is that the celebration is one of blood vengeance, and one by one the northerners are killed. Thsi movie has the two most inventive film deaths I have ever seen. Watch for the Barrell Roll. This was remade in 2005 int an almost as good remake called 2001 Maniacs (Starring Robert Englund!)

3) The Blast Off Girls -- THis film is a hoot. Bad direction, bad editing, bad acting -- But nonetheless its a fun watch. What it is is a band "The Big Blast", gets a new manager in one Boojie Baker. Boojie is a real jerk, and screws the band over at every chance. This film has two big things going for it. THe show stopping finale song "Go F--- Yourself My Friend," and a cameo by a dancing Col. Sanders. Surprisingly he plays the owner of a fried chicken restaurant.

Some movies seemed to fly pretty low under the radar last year (at least around where I live)...

Lucky Number Slevin - Josh Hartnett is mistakenly thrown in between a long waging crime boss war between Morgan Freeman and Ben Kingsley

Running Scared - Paul Walker does bottom jobs for the mob and has to get rid of a gun, but the neighbor's kid uses it to try and kill his father. Now Paul Walker has to find the gun and kid before the mod finds about his botched job and the cops find the gun and link it to the murder.

A Scanner Darkly - Set not too far in the future where a new drug has rapidly engulfed society. Undercover officer Keanu Reeves slowly gets pulled further and further into the drug and starts to lose his grasp on reality.
