I was inspired after seeing this article on Digg: Filmwad - Movie news, trailers, galleries and box office! FEATURED: Dead Meat (The Best Worst Death Scenes) On top of those death scenes (the slow-knifing in Saving Private Ryan, and the curbing in American History X got me,) here's some more I liked... Lots of deaths in Indiana Jones movies - the under-the-plane fight resulting in the bad guy getting chopped up by the propeller, the heart-removal and dunking in lava from Temple of Doom, the. the fight (with the same actor that got diced by the propellor in Lost Ark) that ended with the bad guy getting pureed by the rock crusher... Robocop's got a few - the "death" scene of Alex Murphy, which ended with him getting turned into Robocop, the toxic-waste crash, and subsequent splattering-by-car of one of the bad guys. Yeah, I'm a sick puppy... ![]()

Well, the only gory deaths I could laugh about and which I could therefore consider "enjoyable" were the ones in Braindead. ^^ Other than that, I consider the deaths in the first two final destination movies extremely original, especially the one of the woman in the kitchen. (I haven't seen the third movie yet) But if you stop considering only movies, I would say the "funniest" deaths are the ones in Happy Tree Friends. ![]() (It really scares me that I enjoyed watching sick stuff like Braindead and Happy Tree Friends... :s ) I would say that generally unrealistic gory scenes don't bother me (like in most video games), but realistic ones do. I felt very uncomfortable during the scene in American History X. :/ Other really horrible scenes are the ones in Irreversible, a movie I really don't want to watch a second time. One is gory, the other is not, but is even more unsustainable. Last edited by KIAaze : 05-24-2007 at 02:49 PM.

The shoot-out in the bar at the end of the movie "State of Grace" is pretty sobering. State of Grace (1990)

Another memorable death scene comes from Braveheart (no, I'm not talking about Wallace being hung, drawn and quartered, but that's on the list.) In Braveheart, several Scottish noblemen betray William Wallace, withholding cavalry at the worst moment, causing Wallace and his men to lose in battle. Afterwards, one of them is asleep, dreaming, and he has a nightmare about Wallace coming for him. Just when Wallace is about to kill him, he wakes up. He's in a cold sweat, getting his bearings, thinking "Oh, it's just a dream." And then William Wallace bursts into his bedroom, on a horse. He pulls out this huge flail, and smashes his skull in like a melon. I'd classify that as a pretty freaky death...
