Default Good Books for Aspiring Writers

Hi!

Can you recommend a good book for people who are into creative writing and would love to learn more about poetry, fiction, and essay? I've been searching for a book that is simple and easy to follow, suited to those who have little exposure to creative writing experience. I've been writing stuff, purely personal, but I am limited to styles I am familiar with... I would love to explore other styles to broaden my writing.

Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks!

Look for Stephen King's book on writing fiction. Sorry, I can't remember the name of it. I think it was published maybe 1999 or 2000. I listened to the audio version of it - great stuff.

I would think that the danish writer Svend aage Madsen would be a perfect place to start. His books are well written, and they give one a look into different writingstyles. I especially recommend " seven ages of madness" - one of the best books i've ever read.

Also you should look into Edgar allen Poe, and Howard Phillips Lovecraft. Both creators of fiction and a lot of great books.

Hi Nice..
I am going to go out on a limb here..but..try the bible too..its very inspirational and has many victory stories..they are quite intriguing. There is much wisdom to be sought out like in the book of Psalms..and Job..being old testament..but very inspiring. You dont have to be spiritual by all means to read it..and contrary to popular belief..its not boring at all, matter of fact..you may discover a hidden measure of new hope and life..its revelations are sure to encourage you..so.maybe that will help with your writings. Good luck Nice..
