Default Magazines

I was just wondering if anyone here subscribed to any magazines, and, if so, if they would like to tell us which ones they subscribed to and what they are about.

Currently, I'm subscribing to Macleans, which is a Canadian weekly newsmagazine, covering both national and international news, as well as miscellaneous topics such as entertainment, technology etc. I've been subscribing to it for quite some time, and have always been quite fond of it. However, they've had some major staff changes lately, and I'm noticing that the reporting seems to be slowly slipping away into the land of FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt), which is unfortunate.

I also subscribe to National Geographic, which, if you don't know, is a monthly magazine covering interesting things in biology, geography, archeology and even a bit of anthropology from time to time. That makes it sound far more scholarly than it actually is, though. The magazine is filled with very pretty pictures, and articles talking about cool things such as odd sea life, new buildings, different cultures and whatnot.

That pretty well covers my magazine subscriptions. What are yours?

I have two subscriptions.

Official Xbox Magazine This is basically a magazine for anything Xbox-related. I used to really hate Xbox until I bought a Xbox 360 (I was quite irritated with how things were going with the PS3--price wise and such).

Anyway...it covers things related to upcoming games and such.

Linux Journal This magazine has a lot of neat articles related to Linux. There are programming tutorials ass well as Linux/Open Source news, and much more.

I know this one won't count, as it's only a wish, but I would really love to have a subscription to Linux Format. This si a UK-based magazine which comes monthly with a ton of news articles and tutorials related to Linux. It also comes wiht a jam-packed DVD full fo lInux distros and programs. Only problem is... ( ) it costs about $178 per year here in the U.S....WAY out of my range of affordability.

My only magazine subscription is to Discover. A Science and Technology (though mostly science) monthly.

I get Fortean Times, which is a UK science/UFO/paranormal magazine and Linux Format Magazine, also UK-based.

Neither of them are full delivered-to-my-door subscriptions, but my newsagent faithfully puts them aside for me. Like Cole, the currency exchange rules out a full subscription - paying a little bit monthly seems so much easier than forking over a lot all at once.

Maximum PC

No news or anything from the dinosaur media. The only reason I've kept Maximum PC this long is I like to keep it next to the porcelain throne for perusing during my morning constitutional.

The only magazine I'm subscribed to currently is The Economist.

It's a weekly UK-based (though distributed worldwide) liberal/moderately libertarian magazine/newspaper which covers domestic and international economic, political and business news. Only just started subscribing, though I have been buying it regularly for a long time beforehand.

I don't subscribe to any magazine but I often buy Linux Pro Magazine and Linux Magazine. Both have articles about the open source world, tips and tricks, software reviews etc. Linux Pro also comes with a different Linux distro each month. I also buy Wired from time to time, which has articles about current technology and reviews of a myriad of gadgets, computers and consumer electronics.
