Default A Poem From Dark Times

I used to write all the time...Over time I have accumulated a poetry book with over seventy pages of poetry, a novel-in-the-works...which I have not written to in over four years now, and some other writings. I never really shared any of my poetry with many people, so please be gentle...I must warn, however, that the majority fo my poetry is quite dark and emotional...I only hope that one day I can regain that urge...that inspiration...to write again.

This poem si entitled In My DArkness, and ti was written during a very dark time in my life...as you shall soon be able to see...

NOTE: This one is a short one...but I have many longer ones.

In My Darkness
(By RKCole (Real Name Removed))

In my darkness, my deep despair...
I call out, but is anyone there?
I yell and scream and beg and plead...
But nowhere does this darkness lead...
At times I think that I see the light...
I think that I see a reason to fight.
But in the end the dark crows mourn.
And my heart and soul lay shattered and torn.
Where shall I go and what shall I do?
There is no way, this darkness, I can pass through...
I am so weary, so wounded, so numb.
Will my shining light ever even come?
Tell me now and tell me clear...
I AM CRYING, CAN YOU HEAR?
In my darkness I may eternally be.
Never shall I rest, never shall I see...
I AM SCREAMING, CAN YOU TELL?
Is there any escape to this perpetual, internal Hell?

It wasn't THAT bad, was it?

I know it was definitely a dark poem. I seem to write those kind the best of all; I guess it was because of my childhood...or the lack thereof. I have read through time that, sadly, many people became writers because they were born and lived through a harsh childhood. It's strange, though...how through our lives subtle events, and those which are the opposite of subtle, shape our futures in ways which we, in the past, would never have thought or imagined.

Well, enough of my ramblings.

Take care, everyone.

Keep writing we need artist and freaks who can communicate in such a way(like your poem) that lets people know they are not alone. I enjoyed your poem thanks for putting out there.
