| Greetings and salutations to everyone. First, a hearty thank you to countless forum posters on Ubuntu and elsewhere who helped me find the courage to jump into the waters of Ubuntu. I have been Windows free for two months now, and I love every moment of it. Although my family still uses Windows, I have pieced together an old machine from parts here and there, managed to get Feisty running and everything configured. I am by no means a super-user (yet), but I know more than the average user. While the learning curve is every bit as steep as people say, the freedom of use is worth the effort. One should never forget the hours of frustration that came with one's first "user-friendly" Windows system. Following the advice of many a forum poster I have even managed to salvage an old Compaq Armada laptop with an install of Xubuntu for a friend. Everything works except music cds don't have any audio, but I'm working on it. I have never posted to a forum of any kind before, but this seemed like a good place to start my new Ubuntu life. I look forward to the occasional chat with fellow users. Stay happy and healthy. Kevbo |
