| Well it appears that there isn't an "Introductions thread" yet, so i'll go first. I am RichBarna, I live in Barcelona (Spain), and am the proud father of two lovely daughters of 7 and 1 year. All of my systems run Debian, however, I am a distro junkie and regularly install and distro-test the best that Linux has to offer. I think that this forum is a great idea, and Ubuntu-Geek has done the community a great service in providing it. As on ubuntuforums, I see the moderators are giving up their freetime to contribute as well. Great work guys. Rich Last edited by RichBarna : 12-11-2007 at 07:07 AM. |

| Mostly I'm from another planet, and these days sort of like Bill Mahar ( the comedian, I might be spelling his last name wrong ) I try not to mention that I'm in human form-given the world situation(s). Since that's out of the way. I like sci-fi both books and movies, building computers, kayaks, gardening, painting with watercolor and Greenpeace. Thanks for starting this intro thread RichBarna. I really thought I saw one when I first browsed this site but once I registared I couldn't find it? Great idea-this site-and good setup! Kudos to all involved in making it. |

| Hello, bapoumba, mod on ubuntuforums as well. I'm a biologist, I teach mainly 2nd and 3rd year university students, and I enjoy helping them go study for a year abroad. I've lived in the US for a while. I'm a happy mom, 3 boys (13, 9 1/2 and 7). They kind of drive me crazy sometimes. See you around ![]() |

| Hello, I am utabintarbo, Eater of Forums. I am part of the reason Mr. Barna's used-to-be forum was "controversial". I am allegedly also part of the reason it is no longer controversial, or at least "used-to-be". Just part of the reason, though. I was also a member of UbuntuForums until my "beans" got "burnt". I have a penchant for having an opinion, and being willing to express it. Some find this problematic. I hope you will not. Given that this is an arm of UbuntuForums (in that the management is the same, if not with the corporate backing), I am curious to see if this becomes what the Backyard was alleged to actually be, and if we can let bygones be bygones in favor of some real-life discussion of real-life issues. This remains to be seen. I look forward to engaging in some lively and fruitful discussion of events. |

| I never know what to say in this kind of thread--how much is too much information? does anyone actually read these things? If they do, why would they care? Regardless of all the questions I have about this kind of post, I'll give it a shot. I'm an as-of-right-now unemployed speech-language pathologist. I got my M.A. in May (about a week ago) and have yet to find a job. My goal is to find someone to pay me to work with the really complicated kids--autism, MR, ED...the stuff no one else wants to touch. You never know if your kids will be in a great mood and work with you or if they'll attack you. I love that part of it! I plan to go back to school to get my Ph.D in a couple of years. Anyway, when I'm not risking life and limb to help severely impaired kids communicate, I read compulsively. I do other things too (sleep, eat, go to the bathroom, etc.) but I don't know that anything else is of interest. Right. so that may have been too much information, but it's a little late now. (read: I don't feel like editing this.) Last edited by SenorCheaposGato : 05-11-2007 at 04:50 PM. Reason: Oops...I used "a" instead of "an" as an indefinite article before a word that started with a vowel. My abject apologies! |

| Commentator | Hi all. I migrated over from the Ubuntu forums. I am 36 years old, married, and have a 14 year old son. My job is boring, just regular "blue collar" worker. It involves a specific part of the dairy industry. Lets just say if you live in the U.S. our Japan and have eaten pizza, ice cream, cookies, snack chips, frozen dinners, baby food (list goes on and on), our use any body building supplements. I might have touched your food. In my free time I enjoy tinkering with computers, reading, and b-movies. One of my biggest hobbies is anything dealing with post apocalyptic settings. |

| Commentator | Don't worry. Between the FDA, USDA, and industry regulations nothing bad can happen. You are safe because the U.S. government and a large corporation are protecting you. All sarcasm aside, we do so many tests on our products it is safe. The customers that buy from us are very picky. We have to go above and beyond all government regs just so they will by from us. I eat stuff we make all the time. |

| Well Hello to all of you. I have hoped to find a forum such as this for a long long time. I have the highest regards for anyone who is able to Police the stated rules, required for a place like this to function, and be healthy. I plan on being an active participant... I am a seeker of anything that will benefit my life... As such you won't see me stick around much for arguments... But you can expect me to be somewhat blunt on occasion, but I promise I will be polite. |
