Default Commuting

I'm getting ready to ride my bike to work right now.

So, how do you commute to work/get around town? Any other bikers by any chance?

I commute from Queens to Midtown Manhattan daily - I'd love to bike to work, but it would most likely get stripped outside my office (doesn't matter if you have a kryptonite lock on it, if someone wants it they'll take it or as much of it as they can). I currently take a bus to the train going to work, and a train to another train going home. About a half hour each way, it's the best commute I've ever had. I could just take the #7 train both ways, but I in the mornings, and come to think of it almost any time of day it's like being in a sardine can.

Thankfully I live in a city that has a pretty active biking group. They are pretty active in the local government to have bike lanes installed and promote safety, etc. I started riding only a few weeks ago, but I love it. It helps me wake up and get going in the morning, which is much needed most of the time. Not to mention, I save a lot of money of gas.

I go to uni, and ride a bike to get tehre. Hope to use it during work, when I can.

I use to commute, total of 3hrs round trip, then decided to just go for it, got a house, no more major commute, happily making it to work in less than 15 minutes now.

I commend you. I would go insane if I had to travel a total of 3 hours a day.

I drive, and normally in a "time efficient" manner

I would walk or ride a bike, but I live a bit far away from town to do so, takes around 30 mins of driving to get into town (8 mins at night )

Wow, I was going to say that I live too far out of town to do anything but drive myself, but you guys all travel way further than I have to, lol.

I live about 15km from town, so I drive, as there is no public transportation set up here. I'd like to think I would like to bike, but the route is along a main highway with no cycle lane and no edge between the road and the ditch. Plus, I'd need a shower when I got to work... I know, they're really lame excuses, but until I find a better one, I'm sticking with them

I would love to bike/walk everywhere. Me and some friends here at college try to walk to as many places as we can when we need to go somewhere.

For now, I drive most places if I am by myself. The town the college I am at is a bit shady.

My office is in my home, so my commute is short, unless I stop and make a pot of coffee.

I wish that I could just walk into the next room and be at work. That way it would be much easier to take breaks.

I drive to work, then stop by the gym and get on the stationary bicycle.
