Incidentally, I hate the term "terrible twos". I have a two-year-old, and she isn't terrible. She's a wonderful girl. Sure, it's hard at times, but it's great on the whole. What kind of person thinks a two-year-old is terrible?

My eldest never went through the 'terrible two's' either, so I don't get it. Plus two year olds can be difficult, but they are merely miniature versions of us, so we have no one but ourselves to blame

Having kids who don't behave in public is a different issue to feeding your baby. If you are applying terrible two tantrums in a fancy restaurant and basing your views on breastfeeding a baby on them, you need to get a new perspective and look at the issue for what it is

You are completely leaving context out of it. Beaches are one thing, the subway is another, so is a fine restaurant.

my point wasnt out of context, would you have a problem with a topless man OR woman in a fancy restaurant? i would, and i expect most people would, whether or not theres any breastfeeding going on is neither here nor there, thats the point i was trying to make, likewise, on the underground, topless people are fine, ditto beaches. etc

I too breast fed my babies for a time, they say the breast milk is the best, but I always used a covering and it completely covered my kneck over my stomach, which means lil baby boo was completely in-exposed as well, after all one should not stare when another is eating right? but to just flip up your top plop it in the babies mouth and so forth, well not in todays world, my oh my, maybe not even yesterdays. To many strange things going on to chance exposing yourself and the child, weird Harold may be watching....

I am inclined to agree Sherri. Don't know that I would ban it but I would discourage others from doing it in such a exposed way. Its natural to go to the bathroom but would you really want to do it in public.

Well, thats why receiving blankets are handy, there light and on hot days dont bake the child, not to mention, some of the rest-rooms out their will make you gag. Must feed baby...break out the blanky he-he..I saw the photo of the mom feeding the baby, I think we have an idea on what it looks like...not sure I would have submitted that...but I must say it is beautiful, theres a mystery in it all, and if weird Harold wasnt in the world be could be justified by doing the necessities without being in fear, (sigh) but he/she/it...does exist.
