I have no objection with the idea of public breast feeding, when child is hungry he/she needs to be fed. But on the other hand, I actually get uncomfortable being around with women when they breast feed in public.

I think so, I don't think what women want is their breasts out in public Besides, they should cover up during breastfeeding.

If it's OK for me to eat a sandwich in public, it should be OK for some kid to grab a bite, too. The only ones that seem to have a problem with this are people for whom the human body is somehow obscene, and thus needs to be covered at all times. Ironically, these same people usually have no problem with violence. I don't get people....

I don't know how it can be seen as sexual in and of itself, though that is not the same as saying that it is alright for people to run around without clothes. Some people might be offended, so if a woman breastfeeds in public, the considerate thing would be to do it discreetly.

I breastfed in public and have never ever had someone complain or tell me to go elsewhere. Apparently a lot of other women in my area have been looked down upon for breastfeeding in public.

I have also been told that there is a very anti breastfeeding in public vibe in the US.

I don't go to the toilet to have my lunch and neither do most people I know so I can't for the life of me understand why people expect my children to eat in a toilet or parents room. Plus, most of the time I breastfeed no one could tell. It isn't as if I leave my breast exposed for everyone to see. I am sure if someone wanted to stare they could, but that is their issue not mine

Nobody should have to feed their child in a restroom. There is a sentiment against public breastfeeding in the US, no doubt about that, but I think most people won't complain if it is done discreetly.

I have heard of women being approached in cafe's and being told "You know they have a parents room for that?"

If someone has the balls to say that to me one day, god help them.

I have yet to understand what is so offensive about it. We are mammals.... we are named after the way we feed out young (with our mammary glands). OUr entire species is based on how we naturally feed our young. How people can say that is offensive confuses me no end

We've had passengers complain about mothers breastfeeding in flight. They're told that it's permitted within the conditions of carriage, and, in slightly less frank terms, to STFU and let us get on with our jobs.

I don't have a problem with it, in case you hadn't noticed. I can't understand why some people are so offended by a few titties out on display in public.

And I am not sure about this but I suspect many of the same people do not have a problem with seeing them in their favorite periodicals.
