| Commentator | They tought us really basic stuff in fifth grade, but they teach AIDS prevention && stuff like that in 6th through 8th. Last year (7th grade) they showed one health class a movie on condoms && stuff, but after that class our teacher wouldn't show it to any other class becuase of the reaction that class had. (immature.) |

| i don't even remember...but i think here in the carribbean we never had like a sex ed class... in biology they give some sex ed stuff...... but beside that there is an organization that comes maybe once a year to school and talks about sex ed.. std's, deases, protection and stuff... they also give away condoms and stuff..... but nowaadays the ratings of which kids get pregnant are 11/ 12 years old... so they have more programs on radion and tv..... and you can always get information via the net or go to the organizsatiosn they have here.... if you are shy they also have a hotline that you can call..... Due to the fact that i live in the caribbean on a small island.... it is diffuclt to discuss certain subject but..nowadays.... it's out there.... if people want to hear it or not |

| Just getting started | I think it was when I was 13 but it was more in a scientific way. It's weird for me that in countries like the US they speak about abstinence because in France we never talk about it in class, it isn't even considered as a means of birth control. I remember when in class we had to list the different means for birth control and someone, as a joke, said abstinence and the teacher said "oh no! you're crazy!". lol |

| Grade 5 was the puberty talk - I don't think that's unrealistic, considering most girls get their period around 11-12. Grade 9 they started showing us how to put condoms on bananas... |

| Eligible for a custom title | No sex ed in my state. A very, very few health classes sort of cover a few basic puberty changes about 9th or 10th grade. The sex ed class I got was while I was home schooled. I would have been 3rd or 4th grade then. I got those lessons because my mother could tell that I was already starting to go through puberty at age 8. The high school I graduated got some AIDS education of sorts 2 years ago when my sister took on the project of having the school observe World AIDS Day. She was only allowed to pass out red ribbons and a few booklets on how you get HIV/AIDS and to prevent it with abstinence-only. (Which is required here when teaching prevention. Condoms are a big no-no here until university. We pass them out for WAD there.) |

| First time in 4th, then again in 6th. Usual High School stuff as part of PD for 8-9 then in year 10 we had some specialist come in and we spent the whole day talkin about sex, drugs, and playing condom games where you race putting it on a banana with another team. Doodle team always won. |

| In grade 5 a nurse came to our class and spoke to just the girls about puberty and menstruation. The boys didn't get involved in sex ed until the next year, and then the topics were obviously a lot broader. |
