Well, I spent nearly 5 hours this weekend working on a new template for the forum. Something a little less boxy, something with a cool and refreshing look..

The new theme is live in beta mode.. My inspiration was the wordpress theme k2.. The icons are from the free collection named silk at famfamfam.com: Silk Icons

Some adjustments need to be made so hang tight

Very nice. Looks great so far. May I make one suggestion? The text of forums posts seems to be rendered in a light grey text on white background, which isn't very contrasty and a little hard to read (especially on my LCD, which has a lousy viewing angle, with colors that change depending on where your head is relative to the screen.) So could you change the text color to black, or a darker shade of grey?

You said it was in beta, so I assume comments are encouraged. I'm at the age where wear reading glasses. A little more contrast between print and page background would be nice. I sure like the overall layout. Nicely done (as are the Ubuntu forums).

It's a marked improvement over the original theme, but agree with others. It is a bit bright, and the contrast between text and background a little bit low.

I'll make sure to address that

I already changed the font color for post messages to a darker color it reads way better I think.

It's better looking, but a tad bright. It's OK for me though, just change the emoticon theme
