Today was sad for me.

The tutoring program is winding down for the summer. I had my final sessions today with the kids that I tutor.

My little buddy came down for his session with me, and it hurt me so deeply to have to tell him that the program is going to close for the summer.

He was sad for a while! "Why?!," he asked. "Because it closes a month early and starts a month late", I told him. "I'm going to miss you", he said. "I'm going to miss you too", I told him. "That's not fair," he said. I gently rubbed him on his back, head and consoled him. He was really sad and so was I.

We played games for his time with me, and when it was time for him to go back to his class, we hugged each other and shook hands. We paused for a few minutes and cried a little.

He waved to me and said bye, like he always does. While he was on his way back to class, I cried, alone in the library thinking about him! It broke my heart immensely to see him leave the room!

I'm now sad and heartbroken because our happy times together are just about done for the season.

I'll see him again on Friday and again in two weeks. But after that, hopefully, I'll see him sometime during the summer. And again in October.

I told him that if he's still in the tutoring program, which I think and hope that he will be, that I'll gladly without hestitation, request for him to be with me again. Hopefully, he will.

I really made a lasting impression on him and so has he on me! I want him back next semester. I want to work with him again some more. He told me that I'm like his dad because he treats him with love, kindness and respect like I do. I thanked him for saying that.

I'm lonesome for my little buddy! I want to see him again and let him talk me to death.

It's heartbreaking because I miss him so much. I know that I'll see him next week, but I miss tutoring him and laughing, joking around and playing board games with him!!

All of which brings us to this fall. He wants me to tutor him again, as much as I want to do it!!
